Hey Zabbas! As you may or may not already know, I play viola. If you do not know what a viola is... LOOK IT UP IM TOO LAZY TO EXPLAIN. Viola players have a lot of struggles... Here are some of them...
1. A viola is not a violin...
Me: *is holding my viola case*
Person: Hey I didn't know you play violin!
Me: I don't...
Person: ...
Me: It's a viola
Person: Oohhhh okay.... What's a viola?
Me: *facepalm*
2. When you finally get the melody in a song
Me: :D
But you share it with the second violins
Me: -_-
3. When you get the melody all to yourself, no second violins
Me: *plays at triple forte* (triple forte is really really loud)
4. Nobody knows what a viola is...
My uncle: Do you play any instruments?
Me: Yes. I play viola
My uncle: A viola is like a violin but you don't use a bow, you strum it like a guitar, right?
Me: Ugh, no. *explains what a viola is*
My uncle: Ohhhhhh okay
(This is a true story)
5. BONUS (This applies to all orchestra players not just violas)When you hand your friend your bow, and they touch the bow hair
Me: *hands bow to friend*
Friend: *touches bow hair*
Me: Do NOT touch the bow hair!!!!!!!! >:(
This happens EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!!
6. ANOTHER BONUS!!!! When you have rosin...
Me: *takes out rosin*
Stand partner: Hey can I borrow your rosin?
Me: Sure *hands them the rosin*
Random person: Can I borrow the rosin after you?
Another person: Can I use your rosin
(Rosin goes around the whole class)
Me: I should've said no...
