Tryst: Chapter 8

Ella's POV

I was pretty mad. How dare Joe direct how I act around others. It's not like he owns me or anything. If anything, I'd think he'd support me. I guess I was wrong.

I grabbed a drink from the kitchen, and instantly went to Zoe. I did not talk to her however, I just stayed silent. I soon saw how Zoe saw my weird behavior. She gave me a look of concern.

"Ella, are you okay?" She asked.

"Honestly Zo, no I'm not." I answered. It came a bit harsher than expected, but I knew Zoe understood. She excused myself and herself, and we walked to a corner where no seemed to be lurking around.

"Okay spill. Why do you look pissed?" She finally questioned.

"Your brother." I spoke.

"Ugh, what did Joe do?" She groaned.

I briefly explained of the whole situation to Zoe, trying not let my anger overcome me.

"And it just seemed like he wasn't the brotherly Joe I knew. It was like he was acting like my boyfriend or something." I finished.

"I understand why you're mad, but just bear with Joe. Like you said, he's like your brother. He's just acting all overprotective brotherly like. I will be honest, what he said about Christian, is true. He is a player, but I'm not going to directly tell you to stop talking to him. It's your life, but just give a bit of credit to Joe. He's just trying to protect you." 

I nodded my head after a while realizing what Zoe said was right, like usual. I gave a slight sigh.

"Ugh. You're right, like always. Now I feel bad, I kinda exploded on him." 

"Don't worry about it, it's Joe. Just give him a 'sorry' and he'll probably forgive you in an instant." Zoe comforted. I gave her a hug.

"Thanks so much Z." I soon felt her hug back.

"Anything for my best friend." I smiled. I then went to look for Joe to apologize.

Joe's POV

Stupid so stupid.

I can't believe I pissed off Ella already. She's only been here 3 days, and I already blew it.

I don't even know what caused me to act that way. I don't know if it's because Christian is a player, or if the mere thought of Ella and Christian together makes me want to vomit. My feelings are just not the same once Ella came back.

"C'mon Sugg, get it together." I groaned hitting my head.

"Oi, Sugg. Where have you been. We're all outside with Tyler." I see Oli come.

"Nothing mate, just thinking." I respond.

"Ooh, of what." Oli asks suddenly seeming interesting.

"Okay, if for example, you see a close friend flirting with a player or even someone in general, is it normal to feel like you have to protect them in a way?" I ask.

"Well that's a hard one. Honestly it's kinda of in the middle of being like a protective friend, or being jealous. If the friend can't see the other friend with anybody else other than this certain person he/she is flirting with, then it's jealousy. If not, then it's protective friend." Oli throughly explains.

I imagine Ella with someone else, being all romantic, and I cringe. It just doesn't sit right with me. Does that mean I'm jealous? But, I don't even like Ella like that. She's like my sister. She's my  sister's best friend.  I can't like her like that.  If anything happens, it might break Zoe and Ella's friendship, which would be horrible.

"Oi mate? You there?" Oli was waving his hand trying to get my attention.

"Yeah yeah. I'll meet you outside. Just gonna get a drink." I started walking to kitchen.

Once I arrived to the kitchen, I grabbed a beer from the cooler. I leaned against the counter as I gulped down some of the strong substance. Surprisingly, I see Christian and I guess a friend talking. They come near me, but do not see me because of the amount of people in the kitchen. I was about to leave until I heard her name.

"Dude, I just finished talking to this really hot girl, and she gave me her number." Christian's familiar voice spoke. I eavesdropped knowing he was talking about Ella.

"I know I saw you. What's her name?" His friend spoke.

"Ella. Man, when I'm done with her, ooh." He responded. My blood boiled.

"I mean, she's really hot, and she's new to the country. I said I'd show her around, but we know that isn't going to happen." That was it. I walked straight up to him and gave a solid punch to his face.

"You don't ever talk about her like that again." I spoke. The words harsh and angry. An emotion I almost never take out on a person.

"Joe!" I hear a familiar voice.

You've got to be kidding me.
