Hide and Seek Book 1: Book of the Urban Legend

Chapter 9

"Can everybody hear me?"

"Yes, I can!"

"Yes."

"Of course. I'm just by your side."

"Well, shit." Kath cursed.

Bryan chuckled. "So how can you communicate with them?!" He asked.

"Its ma' secret for now." She said.

Kath look in front of her. Two bloody corpses lay before them. Kath smirked and mummured in a soft voice that cannot be heard "what a weaklings."

"Wait." Bryan said.

"What?" Kath looked back.

"These are not corpses."

"What do you mean?!"

"These are all spirits. Look at them. They have chains on their wrists or ankles. They're all came from hell!" Bryan said.

"What?!" Alex, CJ and Kath gasped. Bryan and Kath looked at them. They walked in. And stare at the two. Within a blink of an eye, Kath disappeared. Alex sighed. She looked at the thanatos on her hand.

"Why did you have that?!" Kath and Bryan said at the same time and Kath came out from the shadows.

"Ah, this... I dunno." She shrugged.

"Do you know what's the meaning of that?!" Kath exclaimed.

Alex shrugged. She didn't really know what's her weapon.

"Thanatos is the god of death. That scythe you carry is called Thanatos. But if someone is possed by his power is the next prince or princess of death... well lets see... it depends if you wield that scythe properly,  there might a chance that you can become stronger and such. Now..." Kath said.

"What?" The all asked.

"Duck!" She yelled.

Alex, Bryan and CJ ducked. Kath throwed some blades from her pocket and there's a man in the doorway, who's stuck with the blades that Kath throwed. They all looked at her. Kath's eyes glow in black and red, she smirked.

"Planning to play hide and seek with me?" She asked and laughed evily. "Hide, Merciless Shadow." She said and her weapon and herself change.

The sword became a scythe. Her clothes change as well. She wore a knee-length boots. Her skirt became a short and her jacket is longer, is now ankle-length instead of that waist-length one. Her jacket is made of shadows and as well, her scythe. She wore a black shirt and a broken star on her head. It made her appearance of a grim reaper.

(But not really the grim reaper that only bones and a skull.)

She smirked. She swings her scythe and she stopped it on the opponent's neck. Something's mystery about here. They all wonder what are they in their past lives. Kath looked at the others and shrugged. But her clothes turned into the original one. In a school uniform but her eyes still the same. Black and red. The other's returned as well.

"What now? I can't go out in this state." Kath said.

"Put an eyepatch."Alex said and throw it at Kath. She catched it like a boss. She put it on.

"I look like a pirate." She pouted. They chuckled.

Bryan looked at his wrist watch and gasped. All of them looked at him. "Crap! We're late!" He said loudly. The others gasped as well, and they started running.
