Chapter 5

Tony's pov

It had been nearly a week since I sent the letter, I still haven't felt to good. But I was sure that once I got the letter it would make me happier, and I was sure I would get one.

I got home after another long day at the studio and excitedly looked in my ail box, hoping that today would be the day I got my long awaited reply. I smiled as I saw the envelope that was obviously from Jodi, as most of my other mail came from fans and when to a different PO Box.

I headed inside and did what I usually did; got changed into a tank top and some sweats, then sat on the sofa and eagerly looked at the letter.

I opened it slowly, excited to see what was inside but also feeling anxious for some unknown reason, however when I started reading the letter a wide grin a appeared on my face within seconds.

It read:

To Tony,

I really enjoyed reading your letter, I'm glad you want to carry on talking to me, I think it'll be nice. I'm trying hard not to completely fan girl right now because I don't want to seem like a weirdo, but I want to take the chance to say just how much I love you.

Why did you put turtle in your name though? Is it your actual name or is it a nickname? Don't get me wrong- I think it's really cute ! I love turtles, I was just wondering :)

I don't actually know much about the people in the band, other then your Names and things that some people from school have told me. I don't have a computer or anything to look it up so I'm sorry if I come across as a bit stupid.

Anyways, let me tell you about me. I am 13 years old and I am in year 9 at the moment. I have blue eyes and brown hair that is shoulder length. I don't really wear fancy clothes or anything and I don't wear jewellery, especially since I don't have my ears pierced. I also have a brother, although I've never actually met him. And my dad never wanted to be a part of my so it's just me and my mum now.

I suppose my main hobby is art, I draw all the time and it's something I can actually take pride in. I played football when I was younger but my mum made me stop for some reason. I think she wanted me to be more girly but I haven't changed much and I still like watching it when I can (which isn't often).

I enjoy listening to music, some sports, playing guitar when I can, and writing. I don't get to do a lot of musical things but when I get the chance I do.

In terms of music, I like ptv, bvb, bmth, the offspring, sws, issues and many more. By the way I like the Of Mice And Men quote you put in there, 'but I love how people think they know me more than I know myself'! That made me smile!

What kind of things do you like? Hobbies (other than the band!), other stuff... I'm not to sure what to ask you to be perfectly honest, I had so many ideas before I wrote the first letter but my brain has frozen slightly knowing that I actually have to ask them now! I didn't think you'd reply haha.

I was really happy with the answers she gave. One, she's not a crazy fangirl that knows every single minute detail about me, two, she is honest. She isn't lying to make herself look good, she's not saying that she's rich and she lives in a mansion and I already like her for that. I like honest people, and Jodi is honest.

I decided to start writing my letter, I don't think I really needed to plan it out to be honest, I feel somewhat comfortable talking to Jodi even though it's not in person and I haven't known her long. I don't know why, but talking to her just felt right... comfortable, for lack of a better word.

I wrote:

Let me just start by saying, you have REALLY good taste in music. And I'm glad you liked the Of Mice And Men quote I put in there, it would have been a bit awkward to explain what it was if you hadn't have known. I would have been a bit embarrassed to say the least!

Other than the band I don't do much, but one of my favourite things to do other then music is cycling! I love it, I do it a lot and I've loved since I was young. I also love turtles, I think they're great and I even have a tattoo of one! What animals do you like? (Ps that's why I put a turtle in my name, it like a nickname people have given me.)

I have short, dark brown hair that used to be long, I also used to have plugs but I got my ears sewn so now I don't. I have a piercing below my left eye, I have snake bites as well but I don't wear them any more. I play guitar in the band, I practise loads and to be honest I'm really proud of myself. If you want me to tell you about the others and some more stuff about the band I don't mind, just ask! It would be my pleasure to talk about something we're all so proud of :)

Would you show me your art sometime? I'm sure it's great. So many fans of the band are amazing artists and I love to look at it, I don't understand how people can be so good at it! It must be so hard to make such a beautiful masterpiece with interface detail, or such a realistic drawing of someone! It amazes me every time. But only if you don't mind, if you really don't want to show me then that's fine by me.

I'm actually quite glad that you don't know much about the band. You're not a crazy fangirl who will lie her way into people liking her, your honest and I like that. Also it means that we can have proper conversations without you knowing all the answers as well as every single detail about me. So don't worry about it, not knowing much or anything about me and the band is actually a bit of a plus.

Any way, how was your week? Mines been busy in the studio, I'm so tired but coming home to your letters makes me a lot happier!

I put it in a envelope and once again left it on the side, just like I had done last time, and decided to post it tomorrow. I had a break from the studio now because I've completed my guitar parts for most of the songs, but for now we need lyrics so only vic and Jaime are going in for the next few days. Vic because he is the singer/song writer, Jaime because he is the backup singer which is something a surprisingly small amount of people know.

Tonight was definitely one of the first nights in a while that I'd gone to bed happy. The letters where well worth it, and I secretly hoped that the next time we toured England I would be able to meet her! Even just for a second. I feel like she deserves to meet the people she seems to love so much, and I'd love to meet my new friend.

WOAH I edited 2 chapters in one day?? Holy shit I'm on a role. I kinda edited half of 4 and told myself I'd do it later... that was a week ago. BUT ITS OKAY! Now I've made up for it by editing 4 AND 5! So you still have more edited (and hopefully improved) stuff to read!
