Leo Valdez Love Story (New Camper)

Chapter 2

My breaths come out in sharp and quick intakes. Ok this is bad really bad. I think I'm gonna faint. Turning back towards he group of people I make sure to stay right up against the edge. They all stare at me. Some of them wide eyed and some of them have sympathetic looks. I have to admit. I'm scared. A bunch of teenagers taking me away from my friends and school and family and are holding me on a flying ship. 

Yep! I'm scared.

"Hey it's okay we're not going to hurt you. I'm Hazel." Says a girl with really curly brown hair. She looks nice but if she was she would take me back to my friends. I take another gulp. I'm still as tense as a brick. I will not relax at a time like this. Ok I need somewhere to run. I look across the boat and see a hall way.

And I run. Dodging them I run down the hallway and slam the door to the first room. A single tear rides down my face. I just want to go back to my friends they would be worrying about me. OMG and my parents. What will happen when I don't come home. I turn around in the room not caring if someone sleeps in here. It looks like a girls room. 

I make my way over to the bed and even though its not night yet. I hop in and pull the covers over me facing away from the door. I dropped my book when Percy threw me over his shoulders and now I really wish I had it.  Why the hell would a bunch of teenagers capture me and say that my life is in danger. I start to cry. My breaths coming out in loud sobs. This can't be happening. 

I hear the creak of the door open and someone walks in. There not going to murder me. Right? They don't look like murderers. I try to stop the tears but I know they will see I have been crying. 

"I know this is hard but where doing this for your safety. Your a demigod like us. Which means that One of your parents is a Greek god." She's speaking to me like I'm a  freaking 5 year old. For gods sake I'm 16!

"We're  not going to hurt you as Hazel said. We just want to help you. "Help. HELP! She wants to help me.

"Well then help me by taking me back to my friends and school!" I shout still not looking at her. At the end of the sentence I let out a sob and more tears come.

"Hey it's alright." She says putting a hand on my shoulder. "Sit up and we'll talk." SO I do just that. I sit up and look at her with my bloodshot eyes and wet cheeks. She's the girl that came with Percy to school to get me.

"I'm Annabeth." She says smiling at me.

"Astrid." I say. Giving her my name.

"Well Astrid we're taking you to a camp called Camp Half-Blood and it's for people like you and me. Demigods. We train there and learn stuff and just have fun in a place that is protected from monsters that hunt us."

"Will I ever see my friends and family again." Please let me see them. I silently plead.

"Maybe." Oh god no. Here the tears come again. A few roll down my face. But she doesn't seem to see as she is looking at the door that someone just knocked on.

"Annabeth? Lunch is ready." When the door closes again Annabeth looks back at me.

"Do you wanna come get some lunch?"

"Ummm ok. Let me just clean up a bit." She gives me a small smile before making her way out the door.

I sit still on the bed for a minute then I go over to the mirror and see that my eyes have become less red and I don't look that bad. 

Slowly opening the door I follow the voices and find myself entering a room with a huge table in it and 7 people sitting around it. When I enter the room becomes quiet and they all stare at me. Well this just makes everything much better. I take a seat a few away from everyone else so I don't have to talk. I don't want to talk.

"Here's a plate. Just think of something and it will appear." Says Percy, handing me a plate. So as always I thought of cheese pizza. And it appeared. I started eating trying not to notice the occasional worried glaces coming from the others. 

After we'd been eating for while. Percy started speaking.

"By the way I'm sorry about swinging you over my shoulder. It was the only way to get you to come."

Instead of saying that ok or whatever I asked him. "Do my parents know what's happening. Are they going to e worried."

"Don't worry they'll be fine. They know what's happening." Annabeth replies.

"So that's Percy and that's Annabeth and your Hazel. Who is everyone else." I ask.

"I'm Frank that's Leo." Says Frank.

"And I'm Piper and this is Jason."

"Ok well it's nice to meet you." They all seem to lighten up a bit after I say that and I'm glad. Maybe they aren't bad. Maybe they're right. Maybe this is for the best.

"Did you know." Jason says. "That your the first demigod from Australia." I perk up when he says that.

"Really?"

"Yep."

"So ummm how long is it going to take to get there." I ask.

"We should be there by tomorrow morning." Says the boy with curly brown hair. I think he's name was Leo.

"Also is there anyway that I could change into something more comfortable." I say as I gesture to my school uniform. A blue and white striped dress with a itchy jumper. They all let out a laugh and I relies that I did too. 

"Yep I'll find you something." Says Piper.
