I awaken in a room wrapped in bandages. The room is familiar and I am utterly confused. I groan a little clutching my gut at the pain coursing through my body.

What is going on?

What happened?

Where am I?

Where's Luke?

The door to the room opens slowly to reveal a grinning Stella.

"You're up." She says happily.

I smile back and attempt to sit up, wincing at the movement.

"What happened?" I ask.

Her smile fades and her eyes wander down to my bandages.

"I found you in the woods bleeding." She says.

My mind becomes jumbled and my eyes begin to water up. A lump catches in my throat.

And for the question I have been dreading since I've awaken, "where's Luke?"

She intakes a deep breath.

"He's watching your execution."

The seconds turn to minutes and still no words are spoken as I try to process what she means.

"Stella I'm right here. I'm not dead." I say confused

She nods in approval.

"I know." She says slowly.

"Luke knows too."

I arch an eyebrow.

"Ashton, they hung your doppelganger."

I freeze at the word.

"Doppelganger."

As in the doppelganger only I was supposed to know about.

"Yes doppelganger." She mumbles. "And Luke's next."

I shoot up from the bed and immediately regret it falling to the ground.

She extends her arm but I refuse it.

"What do you mean next?!" I yell.

"Shh!" She whispers with a finger pressed to her lips.

I quiet down and stare intently at her waiting for the answer.

She looks over at me.

"What?!" She says excessively loud.

I glare at her.

"Oh." She catches back on and begins to explain.

"Well they already hung 'you'." She says putting bunny ears around the you.

I nod and gesture her to keep going.

She continues.

"Well they were so surprised at Luke's reaction... that they wanted...." she trails off.

"They wanted what?!" I shout.

She holds herself back.

"T-they wanted m-more." She breathes out.

No no no no no.

This is not happening.

It's all a lie.

Just like my death.

A knot forms in my throat and I can no longer swallow. I feel as if I am being choked.

And for the first time in my life I do not cry. I do not scream out in terror. My eyes have refrained from tearing up anymore. I am no longer a crybaby.

I am Ashton Irwin, the potato sacking peasant. I am strong. I am worth every bit of effort that was put in to form me. I am worth it. And so is Luke.

I'm not going to sit around and let him die. I'm going to save him and I know exactly how.

Short update I'm so mean ahahhah

Clearly this is ash's POV but on his chapters I'm going to put anon because he's supposed to die but.......
