"Ashton, hurry the sun is setting and we still need to pick the crops so you can bring them to the market tomorrow." My mom yells to me as I feed the pigs.

"Yes Ma'am." I shout running towards her.

She hands me the wheelbarrow I push as she picks. It's much like a braid train actually. Everyone gets a job. The only reason I know about braiding is because of my three sisters. That's how they get their hair done in the morning, but the one in the backs hair is done by me.

I'm pretty much the only boy in the house. My dad is always at the castle helping as a builder so it's just me my mom and my three sisters. We have to support one another. My sisters are 10, 8, and 6 and they all have jobs. Unlike the retarded sleazebags in the castle, we have to work for a living. We weren't in line next for a life of wealth. Instead we have pigs and goats that make our life easier. Not money, we don't need money to be happy. But boy would it be a bonus.

"Thank you Ashton, you were such a wonderful help today. Now go inside and get ready for supper." I run inside the small dainty trailer house and enter my bedroom. I pull out my only pair of pajamas that hadn't been washed in a week. I step into the only bathroom in the house and shut the door behind me. I strip of my clothes letting them fall to the ground. Then step into the shower twisting the knob. We can't afford a water heater so the ice cold water did not surprise me at all. I grab a sponge and pour some of my moms homemade soap onto it. As I scrub off the dirt
I can feel the little beads sticking to me. I take the shower nozzle down and spray them off.

When I'm finaly finished I step out of the shower, pull on my pajamas, and walk to the kitchen. My mom already had dinner on the table. Corn, a hamburger, and freshly grown tater wedges.

"What's the occasion?" I ask taking her by surprise.

"I figured we could eat like kings tonight since ya'll did a wonderful job with helping me." She says smiling.

Kings eat more than one hamburger and a couple tater wedges.

I smile back.

"Yay!" Kaylee cheers taking her spot at the table.

"Yum." May says wide-eyed.

"Woah!" Layla says amazed.

I take my seat followed by my mother and we bow our heads and pray.
