*Bonnie's point of view*

I walk outside the Salvatore boarding house to find Damon standing in the lawn, staring into the dark expanse.
I walk up to him, "Damon?"
He turns to look at me. "We knew it wasn't going to be easy Bon, I have to save my brother but we cannot abandon the plan... You need to keep going".

"I will Damon, I have been working on this for the past one year. We have to do this for Elena, for Mystic Falls, for all of us" I say with resolve.

I know the fact that Stefan being held hostage to thwart our schemes is weighing heavily on Damon.

"You were right" he says after a few moments of silence.

I give him a questioning look.
"You were right when you said that we should keep Stefan in the loop, that way he would have been careful" he replies.

"Damon you had your point, Stefan might not have agreed with certain aspects of our plan and that would have earned us more problems in future and God knows we've been through enough." I sigh. I just want all of this to get over soon.
"We can't abandon the plan, but we have to change strategy to ensure Stefan's safety"

Damon nods and takes out his phone and dials Caroline's number.

"Get back to Mystic Falls as soon as possible"

"I'm already on my way, Damon."

Damon cuts the call. I can see he's going through an internal battle.

Alaric enters the room, looking defeated. He had been working on tracing the activities of heretics to get some clue but by the looks of it there's no good news.

"Their activities are nothing out of usual and I couldn't find any lead about Stefan." Alaric sighs, "but ofcourse I knew they'd cover up their tracks pretty well"

"What is surprising though is that if they know about our plan and have kidnapped Stefan as leverage, why haven't they contacted us yet to threaten or ask for whatever they want?" I state out loud the thought that has been bugging me all this while.

Damon frowns.

"You continue with the plan Bon, we'll take care of finding Stefan" he says to me and I nod. He and Alaric then exit the room.

I don't like how things are going. Our plan was risky to begin with, but now with them being alert and having Stefan as leverage has brought down the odds even more. I really hope this works out because I don't know what I'd do if it backfires.

I sigh and get back to work.
