Yet another story. Not so much fan fiction based!

-

I woke up and grabbed my beeping cellphone. Pressing answer, I yawned. "Do you realize what time it is?"

"Yeah. But I have something really important to tell you!" Steffi replied. She didn't even sound tired at all.

"Can't it wait? You're coming over at 12." I whined.

"No! Just listen. I'll tell you more details later, but I heard there's gonna be a new guy in our class!" She exclaimed happily.

"How does this affect me?" I asked blandly.

"Well, it's like a new start," she giggled, "somewhat."

"I know I'm single, but it's not like I need a guy to make me happy."

"I'll tell you more details later!" She exclaimed, "see you! Good night!"

I placed my phone on my night stand and took a deep breath. Turning my body, I faced my window which had the stars and moon brightly cascading through it.

Slowly, I closed my eyes and drifted back to my deep slumber.

---

I grabbed a tub if vanilla ice cream and placed it into the cart.

"Brooke, do you realize how many calories are in that?" Alissa asked looking at it.

"It shouldn't matter." I smiled, "We're hanging out and calories don't count."

"They should." She rolled her eyes.

Smiling, I placed a package of golden Oreos into the cart.

Already, it was full of junk food and a smudge of Caesar salad. I kept piling on food, not even thinking about what it would do to my body.

I ran towards the chip isle in search of my favorite chips: Pizza Pringles and Jalapeño Cheddar Chips. Once I had them in sight, I grabbed them and quickly ran towards the cart.

Suddenly I bumped into someone. Looking up, I apologized.

"Oh gosh. I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed as I held onto the chips.

"It's okay." He replied with a half smile.

"I don't think I've ever seen you here." I said as I adjusted the chips in my hands.

"We just moved here. It's weird living in such a small town." He replied.

"Huh, city boy," I repeated, "I'll probably see you around."

"Yeah." He replied awkwardly.

I walked away, towards Alissa. And put the chips into the cart.

"I think this is enough to make us gain 50 pounds." She complained.

"Fine. I'll take away my ice cream and chips." I sighed as I took then out of the cart.

Smiling, Alissa pushed the now barely full grocery cart to the cashiers.

I walked towards the chip isle in shame. I can't believe my health conscious friend talked me out of buying chips. Me of all people.

"Weren't you just here?" The boy asked as I walked into the chip isle.

"I have a health conscious friend who convinced me to return the chips and stuff." I said as I put the chips back onto the shelf.

"Oh." He whispered as he grabbed an all dressed ruffles bag of chips, "see you around... Again.."

"Yup!" I replied as I left the chips isle.

"Who was that guy you were talking to?!" Alissa asked in excitement.

"Wh- that guy?" I asked pointing towards the now empty chip isle.

"Yes that guy!" She yelled in a quiet tone.

"I don't know his name, but he's new here. Maybe he's the new guy that you've heard about."

"I think it might be! He's majorly cute!"

"He's really nice." I added as I placed food onto the sliding belt that lead to the cashier.

"I hope he's nice. I want to get to know him." She winked as she put the last food item onto the belt.

I smiled to myself, "I have to get to know him."
