Sorry I haven't uploaded in so long but honestly I wasn't sure whether I was going to continue this story because I felt like it wasn't any good. Thank you to those of you who have commented you have inspired me to continue writing this story.

******************************************************************************************It was the first day of school and I still haven’t been able to shift yet. My leg was in a full cast still and I couldn’t go anywhere with out crutches. I don't know how I'm going to go at school seeing as there are stairs and the only time I've gone down stairs myself I fell and Trent had to catch me. But Trent wouldn’t be there to catch me if I fell he would be with his friends.

I finished getting dressed and hobbled down the stairs on my crutches. “Ben, hurry up or you’ll miss the bus and I don't have time to take you.” I wondered why she wasn’t hurrying me to but then I remembered I had an appointment with Dr Campbell and mum was going to take me to school afterward.

When I finally made it to the kitchen everyone was staring at me. They had obviously heard me coming because my approach was less than stealthy. These stupid crutches they are a massive inconvenience. “Good morning Kiara how did you sleep?” my mother asked when I walked into the kitchen. “I think I tossed and turned a lot if my sheets are any indication.’’ “Well come on in and have some breakfast. There is bacon, eggs and toast.”

My mother was always cooking. Well with all the people in our house and the guest house there was a lot of mouths to feed. So I grabbed a plate and layered it with eggs and toast. I took the plate through the arch way and sat in an empty chair between Ben and Lucas.

“You going to be at school or are you just going to play sickie?” Lucas whispered into my ear. “Well that just depends on what the doc says,” I whispered back. “Well come find us if you do go to school.” “Ok I will,” I smiled.

Twenty minutes after my brothers left for school there was a sharp knock at the front door. As I hopped towards the door I saw a shadow through the door. The shadow was taller than Dr Campbell and wider this person was mostly muscles. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and autodialed the guest house. I hobbled into the lounge room and slid down the wall placing the crutches on the floor beside me.

After three rings someone picked up. “Hello,” Nicolas Di Carlos answered. “Nick there’s someone at the door and it’s defiantly not Dr Campbell. You’ll need at least two others because this guy is tall and big and I don't mean fat I mean from what I can see he’s all muscle,” I whispered hurriedly into my phone. “We’ll be there soon but we will need the surprise factor so I need you to go an answer the door but try and stall and only let him in if you have to. Don't hang up just place your phone in your pocket.” “Nick hurry and bring all the enforcers you can there may be more around the house.” “I’ll be there soon Kiara.”

There was another knock at the door and I hopped out of the lounge room and went to the answer door.”Can I help you?” I asked as I opened the door. “Kiara Marsden?” he questioned me. “Yes that’s me, why do you ask?” “Kiara Marsden I need you to come with me. You are a witness in the trial against William Chambers.” “I'm not going anywhere with you alone I don't know who you are and even if you introduce yourself right now how do I know that your not another stray trying to kidnap me?” “Well Kiara…”

“Put you hands up and move away from Kiara,” Nick basically snarled, well as much as a human could. A growl escaped from the lips of John Feldman. John was an enforcer for my father and employed to protect my mother, my father and I.

The man moved away from me with his hands up. Nick moved in between me and the still unknown man. “What do you want?” “Miss Marsden’s testimony against William Chambers,” he said matter-of-factly. “Who are you?” “I'm Garry Wells and I'm an enforcer for Dwayne Mathews.” “Well if you don't mind I would like to see some id and I will be confirming your employment with Dwayne,” Nick said pulling out his phone. He quickly dialed Dwayne’s number.

“Hello,” someone answered on the other end. That was the good thing about being a werecat you can here both sides of a phone conversation but it didn’t offer much privacy when everyone can hear what you are saying. “Dwayne? Hi it’s Nick here. There is a cat here claiming to be Garry Wells and an enforcer of yours,” Nick said to Dwayne as Garry passed him his license. “Yeah Nick I sent him over to get Kiara because Brett decided to send William Chambers to the Territorial Council for trial.” “I won’t let some new enforcer take Kiara alone I don't know him and I am not trusting him with this Pride’s only Tabby,” Nick told Dwayne. “I understand that Nick and I wouldn’t want you to send Kiara without a chaperone,” Dwayne pacified Nick with understanding. “Ok Dwayne I’ll have John come with her and I’ll be along with Brett as well make sure you have a car to pick us up at the airport. Well see you when we arrive. Bye,” after saying that Nick hung up.

“Ok Mr Mathews we will be ready to leave in half and hour,” Nick informed Garry then turning to me said. “Kiara go to your room and pack some clothes and whatever else you need. You have half an hour.” “Yes Nick do you want me to tell Daddy?” I asked. “No I’ll tell him I need to talk to him,” he smiled at me. With that I hobbled into the house and made my way slowly up the stairs. It took me ten minutes to get to my room.

I started throwing stuff into my suitcase. T-shirts, shorts, a dress, black slacks, a white button up and some underwear. I threw a picture of Mum, Dad and I at Wonderland into the suitcase as well as a few books and my school books. I had homework and I wouldn’t be able to be at school for probably three days so Dad was going to get my school work.

We were going to the Great Western Territory for the trial. That was 4 and ½ hours by plane and that was from Sydney. We still had a 2 hour drive before the plane ride. It took an It took an hour to check in and then it was lunch time. “Dad I'm hungry. Can we get something?” I whined. “Sure what do you want?” My dad replied. “Red Lea chips with chicken salt?” I asked, excitedly. I hadn’t had Red Lea chips for months since the last time I went to the plaza with my cousin Madison. Madison’s dad married her mum and took over her grandfather’s pride. Just like my mother and father.
