Here is Chapter 6. I hope you enjoy.

I started when a loud crackle came over the loudspeaker. I covered my ears with my hands, cracked my eyes open and looked out the window. "Where are we?" I asked, rubbing my aching eyes. "I think we are about twenty minutes from getting off this plane," my dad whispered back to me. "I guess I can't go back to sleep then?" I asked. "No you can't sweetheart," Dad said next to me.

I was still so tired. It must be the jet lag but why do I have jet lag? I thought to myself. The loudspeaker crackled again before a voice of the flight attendant came over. "Please make sure your seatbelts are fastened. We land in five minutes." "Kiara here's your belt put it on," my father said passing me the seatbelt.

As the plane declined in altitude I felt a popping sensation in my ears. Then felt the plane hit the tarmac and I looked out the window to see hangers whizzing past. After a few minutes the plane had fully stopped and the loudspeaker crackled again. "we will start unloading from the back. Could rows 32 to 29 please make your way to the plane exit," the flight attendant said over the speaker. This continued row by row until it was our turn.

We followed the rest of the passengers out of the plane, through the hallway and out into the terminal, my father and enforcers sticking close by me. We walked toward the baggage pick up area when my father and the enforcers suddenly stopped. I scented the air sifting through the scents of my father, our enforcers and the smells of the human passengers to find out what had stopped them. I finally picked up the smell of another werecat but it wasn't like the scents I was used to.

My father, John and Nick pressed in closer and enclosed me between them. We moved quickly to the pick-up area and John moved to grab each bag placing them around us and enclosing me further. Once all our bags were sitting beside us John and Nick grabbed two each while my father took my arm and guided me to the exit.

We waited outside for about ten minutes before an old white limo pulled up in front of us. "Brett and Kiara Marsden?" the driver asked when he stood before us. "That would be correct," My father nodded. The driver walked back to the car, popped the boot and then walked over to us. "If you would pass me your luggage I will put it in the boot," the driver told us.

While the driver was putting our bags in the boot the rear passenger door opened and out stepped two burley guys followed by a man with a smaller frame. "Brett, Kiara it's wonderful to see you again. Please hop in so we can get you settled," Dwayne said cheerfully before retreating back into the limo. "Come on Kiara we need to get you out of the open," Nick said, pushing me towards the car.

When I hopped into the car I was immediately followed by my father and Nick. "Kiara this is Ian and Nigel Burton," Dwayne said indicating the two men next to him. "Ian, Nigel this is Kiara and Brett Marsden and their enforcers John and Nick." "It's a pleasure to meet you both," Ian and Nigel replied.

We drove an hour south from the Perth airport towards Jarrahdale. The urban scrawl of the city thinned out into paddocks and forest. Towns and houses past by the window I was staring out of before turning into dense forest.

In the middle of nowhere we suddenly slowed and turned onto a side road and onto a gravel road. We followed the road for a while until the forest trees thinned into a clearing where a large house sat in the middle. We pulled to a stop out the front of the house.

"Welcome to my home," Dwayne said as he hopped out of the car. We all followed Dwayne out of the limo and onto gravel of the driveway. "Ian would you please take the luggage up to the assigned rooms," Dwayne said turning to his enforcer.

"If you will come with me I will show you around the house," Dwayne told us as he turned to face us. He turned and started walking toward the house. "Come on Kiara you need to get some food and rest," my father said placing his hand on my back to help support me so I didn't fall.

We followed Dwayne into the large house. The foyer was a large opened space which had archways and shut doors. We walked through an archway which led to a lounge room. On the left wall there was another archway which led to a hallway.

"Feel free to use the entertainment system whenever you like," Dwayne told us, gesturing toward the entertainment system on our right that included a TV, DVD player, DVDs, games and gaming consoles. He then continued walking toward the hallway attached to the room, stopping halfway and waited for us to catch up.

"John and Nick there is a single bed for each of you through this door," Dwayne said pointing to a door to our right. "Brett there is a spare bed in this room and Kiara will stay in the room next to it," Dwayne pointed to two rooms on the left. "Make yourselves comfortable and Ellen will come fetch you for dinner," Dwayne said before he turned around and walked back down the hallway. "Kiara go have a lay down and rest your leg before dinner," my father instructed.

With that I opened the door to the room I had been assigned, closing it behind me and hobbling over to the bed. My suitcase had been placed at the end of the bed so I went over to it and tried to lift it onto the bed. One of my crutches fell to the floor leaving me only one to support my weight.

Finally after five minutes I managed to get my suitcase onto my bed. I opened it and riffled through it until I found 'Heartland' the book it was currently reading. I zipped the bag closed and pulled it onto the floor before lying down on the bed and beginning to read.

Knock, knock.

"Come in," I yelled from the bed. "Hi Kiara, I'm Ellen Dwayne's wife," a woman with short blonde hair said after she opened the door. "Hi." "Dinner is ready I just have to let your dad and the others know and I'll show you all the way to the dining room," Ellen said before closing the door.

We were sitting at the dining table loading our plates with food. The table was covered with different types of food. From stuffed baked potatoes to roast chicken and lamb to seasoned vegetables.

"Help yourself to whatever you wish. Before we start though its time for grace," Ellen said. We all bowed our head, closed our eyes and heard as Dwayne started saying grace.

Dear Lord, thank you for this food.

Bless the hands that prepared it.

Bless it to our use and us to your service,

And make us ever mindful of the needs of others.

Through Christ our Lord we pray. Amen

Amen. We all replied. "Ok everyone, dig in," Dwayne said picking up his knife and fork. For the next half an hour we engaged in small talk while we ate. "So Kiara, how are you feeling about the trial," Ian asked me from across the table. "I don't know. I don't see why I need to be here when everyone knows what happened," I replied, politely.

"If you will follow me into lounge room for tea and coffee." Dwayne asked as he turned to the door opposite him and gestured for us to follow.

An hour later Ellen called us all back into the dining room for desert. "That desert was wonderful Ellen," my father said from beside me. "Thanks Brett," Ellen replied. My father then turned to me. "Kiara it's getting late and you're going to have a big day tomorrow you should go to bed honey."
