"Nate?"
His head shot up, as his red eyes stared into mine.
"I-I thought I was too late. I thought you already left." He stuttered, soaked from the rain.
"Why are you here, Nate?" I questioned sternly.
"I- I needed to see you before you left."
"Why? What's the point of seeing me 5 minutes before I probably never see you again? To say bye? Or?"
"No, it's not bye because I will see you again. But I just needed to tell you something. Something really important. You need to know and I know if I don't tell you now, I'll regret it later." He said quickly.
"I could care less right now honestly" I coldly chuckled as Sam's car pulled up.
Before he could reply, I spoke up again.
"I have to go. But before I do, I hope you get everything you want in life because even though we aren't exactly on good terms, you were my best friend and I care about you. I want you to be happy so please, I beg of you, be happy." I said on the verge of tears, walking to the car.
"Meghan, wait!" He yelled running to me.
But I didn't stop, I got in the car and left him behind. This is what I needed. A new life, new people, a new place...
This was it.
I won't see Nate.
Ever again.
