"Sydney, wake up." Sydney groaned as she heard those three words, thinking she was going to school.
"No." She said in a deep and raspy voice, mentally cursing at it.
"I'm about to leave for work and it feels like we don't even talk anymore so I'm taking the day off tomorrow." Lisa said and Sydney sighed in relief.
"Okay, I'm looking forward to it." Sydney smiled, opening her eyes.
"I'm really sorry I left you at Mrs. Hemmings's house and let you sleep with that boy." Lisa sighed. "I'm not mother material and I'm certainly not going to be so anytime soon, but I promise you I'll ground you the next time you do something bad." Lisa kept a straight face and laughed when Sydney widened her eyes. "I'm kidding. I really wanted a night with my boyfriend and it was so sudden, so I had to decide. I promise I won't let him come between us while you're here."
"It's okay," Sydney smiled. "I'd do the same thing if my boyfriend was THAT cute." She gave Lisa a wink and Lisa blushed a crimson red.
"What have you explored so far?" Lisa asked, looking around the messy room.
"Not much." Sydney shrugged. "Luke is going to show me around throughout the summer." Sydney was having a battle in her head whether or not to show Lisa her polaroids, but they were precious. They were her memories. Plus, Lisa would get mad if she saw most pictures were taken at night, or with the bright blue eyed boy who was stuck in Sydney's mind.
"Alright, I'll make sure to show you around too! I have to leave, does pizza for dinner sound good?"
"Sounds good, feels good."
"I'll take that as a yes." Lisa laughed and left.
Sydney hated getting up in the morning, and she wished she could get ready without having to stand up, but it was impossible.

"Lucas, the girl is pretty hot." Calum said, seeing Sydney's polaroid.
"She's not a temperature," Luke muttered and took the polaroid away from Calum, placing it on his wall.
"She's beautiful," Calum rolled his eyes as those words came out of his mouth.
"I know." Luke smiled. "She's a great friend too."
"Friend?" Calum laughed.
"Well, yeah, we're friends." Luke shrugged.
"Mate, you just friend zoned her." Calum shook his head and sat down on Luke's couch, grabbing the remote and turning on the TV.
"It's better like that, since she's going to leave." Luke sighed, due to the fact that he has repeated that to himself atleast fifty times.
"Just have a fling." Calum said, throwing a pillow at Luke.
Truth is, Luke wanted to get to know Sydney. She was the first girl who did not see him as the awkward kid at school. The one who could never get a girlfriend because of how shy he is around girls, or the fact that he can barely keep a conversation going because he is just THAT nervous. With her, he felt like he was a new person. She did not know his past, so it could not haunt him. He could pretend to be the guy he always wished he could be. So far, he was doing really good. In all honesty, he was gaining confidence.
The thing is, he did not want to get attached to the pretty girl who was asleep on his bed not even a day ago.
