Johnnys P.O.V

I surveyed the sunlight slowly growing brighter, consuming almost half of my living room. Caroline still lay sprawled across my chest. Her breathing was calm and quiet. Her soft light brown hair cascaded down my body. I wanted to get up, but I also didn't want to disturb her. She looked so tranquil. I ran my fingers through her long beautiful hair. She quickly rolled over from her back to her side, jabbing my stomach with her elbow in the process.

"Why is it so damn bright in here?" She mumbled grogily.

"The sun." I smiled softly observing her delicate movements.

"Wait... I slept through the night?" She shot up.

"What's wrong with that?" I asked.

"I didn't mean to intrude... I only meant to stay for a few hours....I'm so sorry." Her eyes became glassy in the light.

"You didn't do anything wrong, if anything I wanted you to stay the night." I watched her start to shake.

"I'm sorry." She quivered.

"You don't have to apologize."

"I just feel rude, I stayed when I should have gone home." She was gazing at one of the pictures I had hung up on the wall.

It was of me and Ava. The sunlight was reflecting off of it and onto carolines face. By now she had stopped shaking.

"Is that your daughter?"

"Yeah." I averted my eyes from her.

"She looks just like you."

"Most people say that." I chucked.

"Who are they?" She pointed her finger at a picture of me and the guys on tour.

"Me of course, and the rest of the guys that I'm in a band with. That was taken from last year's tour." The frame was coated in a thin layer of dust. "What time is it?"

Caroline reached down onto the floor grabbing her cellphone from her shawl pocket.

"8:30am"

"Shit, I told Asia that I'd pick Ava up at 9:00." I grabbed my flannel, quickly throwing it on and buttoning it.

"I'll just walk home. I don't want you to be late." She stood up pulling her shawl on over her tank top.

"No, you can come with me. I don't mind." I assured her.

"You sure?"

"Positive."

Carolines P.O.V

I felt nervousness coursing through me. I had only known him for about 24 hours, and we had already kissed multiple times almost fucking on his couch. yet I was still apprehensive about meeting his daughter. She was only about 5 or 6 from what I could tell from that picture.

Shed either love me or despise me.

"I'm gonna go in and get her I'll be right back." Johnny pulled the car up to the curb and got out.

I felt the car shift as he slammed the door shut. I took a shaky breath, trying to relax by forcing my self further into the seat. Whatever happens, happens. I kept my eyes glued to the front door until I saw it swing open. A little girl with long wavy blonde hair skipped down the driveway to the car, freezing in her tracks.

Shit

"Daddy? Whose that?" Her eyes were the size of moons as she glanced back at Johnny.

"My girlfriend."

A shiver fled up my spine as he uttered the words girlfriend. It was a foreign word to me. I watched as the little girl hesitantly walked up to the now open car door, courtesy of Johnny. She clambered into the back seat, placing herself right into the pink car seat in the back corner next to the window.

"Why dont your introduce yourself Ava?" Johnny chucked, sliding himself into the drivers side.

"I'm ava and I'm four and a half." She giggled. "What's your name?"

"Caroline." I smiled glancing back at her.

I turned arount to face forward again, watching the car slowly pull away from the cement driveway.

"Daddy?" Ava called from the back seat.

"What sweetie?"

"Is Caroline my new mommy?"

I noticed Johnny tense up In his seat.

"Uh....no....sweetie, she isn't your mommy at all." He nervously scratched the back of his neck.

"Wh-why not?!" I heard ava whine.

"You were just with your mommy over the weekend sweetie." He had a calming tone in his voice.

"What If I want Caroline to be my mommy too?" She snapped back at him.

"No sweetie..." He trailed off.

I had no idea what to say, I just sat there speechless. The car stayed silent for the rest of the ride. Johnny ended up dropping me off at my apartment on the way back to his house.
The apartment felt empty and secluded. I had forgotten how much I had missed being around people, I didn't have very many friends. I would spend most of my days painting or drawing. I would spend countless hours in the silent solitude of a dark room staring at a blank canvas, trying to create something. Anything. I would spend nights on end without sleep, still to this day. Insomnia wouldn't allow me to sleep. Any sleep I did get would result In a gruesome nightmare. This would open a whole new realm of imagination.

I laid back on the couch, finally getting a moment of peace to relax. Ava had just gone to bed. The whole house was virtually silent. I almost wish Caroline had stayed.... Who knows when I'd see her again.

Carolines P.O.V ~nightmare~

I watched him raise his fist. I thought I could be free once I moved out. I was very wrong. I let out a yelp as his fist slammed into my face, once, twice, three times. I tried struggling away from his reach, but th hardwood floors made traction hard to find. I felt his slender fingers grip the hem of my shirt. I pushed myself to my feet, desperately reaching for an escape. His hand forced me back down the the ground. His foot dug into my side. I wailed in pain. this couldn't be happening again. The copper taste of blood filled my mouth. I started choking, Wheesing. I felt as if my chest was going to explode. Blood was now flooding onto the floor. I cried for help, but no one was there to save me.
~end nightmare~

I awoke panting and sweaty. My heart was racing. I could still taste the remnince of blood in my mouth. I gagged at the thought, my whole body shaking.
