Percy's pov:
Percy woke up to voices whispering in the dark. The familiar glint of lethal pen could be seen in the surrounding darkness that seemed to lead on and on. A cold hand gripped Percy's.
His arm was throbbing painfully sharing the same with his head.
"How long have I been out?" Percy asked, shaking his head to dispatch the stars that had started to shine brightly behind his eye lid as he sat up.
Annabeth's voice cut through the silence, "Hey, you were out for about three hours. You hit your head pretty bad. By the time I got to you, you were unconscious but you were breathing. I couldn't get you anywhere too far away so I carried you to this building since it was the only place old enough to count as a run-out."
"Nectar... In my bag, there's some nectar and ambrosia," Percy mumbled, his arm aching like Hades.
Annabeth shuffled over, linking her hand into Percy's bag's strap and heaving it towards her.
She worked to open up the blue, school bag while I fell back down to the ground.
She came up with a zip lock bag filled with Ambrosia squares and a minuscule flask filled with yellow, gooey liquid that contained healing properties.
Annabeth handed Percy the flask after uncorking the screw at the top along with an ambrosia cube.
As Percy chugged down the godly food, taking care of not taking too much as he did not intend to burn himself out of existence, he took his bag from Annabeth and fished out a drachma.
"I can ask my mom to come over and get me... Dammit!" Percy said as he started to remember his mother's words.
"What? Is something wrong?" Annabeth asked, clearly dismayed by Percy's actions.
"My mom... I have my apartment's keys but we can't go there. Paul and mom are supposed to be packing and if I come home looking like this, they'll end up cancelling the trip!" Percy exclaimed at he toyed with the now-empty flask.
"We could go to my apartment..." Annabeth said but stopped mid-sentence.
"What?" Percy asked, confused by Annabeth's words.
Annabeth seemed to be looking at a dark haired guy who paced the lawn of the building by which Annabeth and Percy were hidden.
"Is that... a dagger?" Annabeth asked as her confusion reached a higher pitch.
Percy followed her gaze which landed upon s glint of metal that shone in the darkness.
It was gone as soon as it had come but it was enough to alert him of the danger. They needed to get out of there, now.
"Yup, and that dagger might be the one that pierces our hearts. Let's get out of here," Percy said.
Annabeth jumped onto her feet and helped Percy up.
"Where should we go?," Annabeth hauled her bad onto her shoulder before grabbing Percy's bad and throwing it over her head at Percy who caught it with his free hand and drew it over himself.
He was self-aware of his condition; his arm was broken but was mending slowly, if he could reach a water source then he could speed up the process. He was covered in monster gunk and blood and smelled as if he had gone swimming in animal guts.
