"So..." Percy began, his feet tapping on the ground with nervous energy that seemed to increase by the second.
"Where do we start?" Annabeth asked, her blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail that dangled high over the tiled floor.
Neither one of them wanted to tell Jace anything. He was an outsider, someone who knew nothing off them. If he were to find out and not keep it to himself, the secret of the gods would be unleashed into the world.
But then again, who would believe a guy going on about a group of semi-gods who run around the world saving mortal asses? They would probably declare him a lunatic. Besides, it's not like the people would be wrong. Jace really was a lunatic and Percy didn't know half about him.
"Well, how about this? We are crazy lunatics who run around the world, waving weapons and happen to be Demigods. Good?" Percy stated flatly.
Jace's jaw hardened. He turned to face Percy and said, "You're in my house, at my mercy. You better spill the beans otherwise you are going to pay."
Percy, unaffected by this sudden threat, glared at Jace. Sadly, he wasn't even trying to be scary. If he were, Jace would have probably pissed his pants. It happened to a Hermes kid once.
"Why don't you tell us your story first?" Nico asked, though it wasn't really a question. More like an order.
Jace, however, remained unfazed.
"We are crazy lunatics who run around the world, waving weapons and happen to be half-Angles. Good?" Jace said, mimicking Percy.
"Dude, mimicking is soooo last season!" Percy exclaimed in a high pitched, girly falsetto.
At that, Jace blinked, clearly surprised.
"Look, an emo-Goth kid, who has an odd relationship with a jacket, shows up and decides to rob our kitchen. Then, he doesn't even flinch when I throw a knife at him. Then you new idiots show up and decide that my house is there house and try playing games with me. I am more than capable of forcing answers out of you people so, and I mean it this time, tell me who you are or else you will seriously regret it," Jace ranted, his voice dangerously calm.
He though that Percy would be the one to reply as he was the one with the snarky responses but this time Annabeth replied.
"Jace, we are really sorry... well, not really, but we can't tell you who we are. You know our names already but I'm afraid we can't tell you anymore."
"Then you can't leave," Jace said, any trace of humor leaving his face.
"Uhuh, like we'll do that," Percy said.
"You won't have a choice, bastard," Jace said, his tone revealing his anger and annoyance.
"I think I do," Percy said, angry as well now. He stood up, grabbing Annabeth's hand. The chair he was previously sitting on was knocked down to the ground when he got up.
Nico followed Percy's example except he didn't knock his chair to the ground.
Jace jumped to his feet as well, his chair being thrown to the ground as well. Poor chair...
Percy started towards the door only to be cut off by a certain blonde weirdo.
"Hmm... You remind me of a friend. Jason Grace. He's quite an idiot," Annabeth said, mussing on the thought.
"What? Never mind... You can't leave," Jace said, slightly confused at his comparison to a guy he hadn't met in his life.
"You wanna bet on that?" Percy said, shoving past Jace.
Jace, annoyed by Percy's attitude, slammed his fist into Percy's gut who grunted in pain.
Percy dropped to the ground, rolled to his back and jumped on to his feet, a snarl on his face.
He ducked Jace's next punch and landed one on Jace's jaw sending him hurtling into the kitchen wall.
Jace, who was ultra-pissed off right now and in pain, slid to the ground only to get back up and hurtle towards Percy.
They both fell to the floor, throwing punches at each other and rolling around.
Annabeth and Nico stood in the background, awkwardly looking on at the fight.
"So, how did you end up here?" Annabeth asked, trying to keep her eyes off of her boyfriend who was pummeling punches. The two were in such a fierce battle that it was hard for Annabeth to keep up with the rolling bass of punches.
"I shadowtraveled to a place near here, going after a loose hell hound, even though I was warned not to, I suppose I should've listened to that warning. I managed to kill that chunk of fat but I was drained out so I searched around until I found this place. It looked deserted but sadly, it wasn't. Taking advantage of that though, I scraped their kitchen clean. The blonde dude wasn't lying when he said that he threw a knife at me and that I stole his food. Sad thing was, without nectar, I wasn't strong enough to shadowtravel just then and I couldn't just walk out, believe me I've tried, I even jumped out my window, there are guards patrolling the place," Nico told Annabeth his story.
Annabeth, too surprised that Nico had actually said something, kept quiet until the boys finally broke off.
Both were sweaty, bruised up and bleeding. Percy's leg was twitching. Annabeth deciphered from that that it hadn't fully healed.
His hand shot up and instantly, a stream of water encased him like a shimmering, external shell.
His bruises faded until they remained no more. His cuts sealed up. The blood and sweat dissolved into the water. The water may have been all over him but Annabeth knew that the concentration of it was on his leg. That, too, stopped shaking.
Percy willed the water off of his body, willing it to hover above Jace's head and then, willing it to splash on his face while he was too dazed to react.
Percy and Nico burst out laughing while Jace looked as if he'd been slapped with a fish.
Annabeth had a grin spreading across her face until she, too, was lightly chuckling. On the other hand, there was no knowing whether Annabeth was laughing on Percy and Nico's state or Jace's disheveled features. The water hadn't had the same affect on him as it had on Percy. Now, Jace just had dirty water added to the sweat and blood. Disgusting. It was truly disgusting.
Well, so much for communication tactics.
