Death to Start a War

Keira continued through the winding trail of the mountains, her feet travelling along a well beaten path. She heard footsteps behind her approaching quickly, Keira turned to see Natsu racing towards her.  She stood and waited for him, looking out at the clear blue sky. Natsu came to a sliding halt, his chest heaving. 

"What is it?" Keira asked bluntly, not looking him in the eye. 

"Is Achnologia your.." Natsu trailed off, Keira saw astonishment in his dark eyes. 

"Yes, he is" she answered, for some reason, her ears were hot with embarrassment, probably because Achnologia was renowned for killing humans after he was captured by Zeref. 

"Wow" Natsu breathed, when Keira had walked past him and Achnologia flew off it had just hit Natsu that they knew each other, well. "Um, er Erza wants to get back to the guild, so we're leaving soon." Keira frowned slightly, but followed Natsu back to the cave.

When the wizards got back to Fairy Tail everyone was greeted warmly. Erza went and told their master everything that had happened. Keira again felt self-conscious about how she looked because now her whole entire body was littered with scars.  

Everyone was asking questions at the same time and it overwhelmed Keira and the others. She wove her way around her guild mates and made it to the back of the hall and sat down. 

The next day the Guild masters and the 10 wizard saints held a meeting about the information that Erza told Mokarov. Keira and the others waited impatiently for their ruling and what action they would take. 

A couple days later Mokarov returned with the plan that they had made. He pulled Keira to the side, 

"We decided to send out the 10 wizard saints to investigate the situation. I want you to come also," He said, Keira was taken aback. 

"Me? Why not Guildarts or Laxus?" She asked, she was new to the guild and some of the others might not trust her. 

"Because one of the other guild masters found one of their members dead, and a guardian symbol on their body." Mokarov said gloomily. Keira narrowed her eyes, but she could not reject the offer, if Guardians were killing people, she had to do something about it.

The next morning, Keira and Mokarov set off to the capitol to meet the other wizard saints. Once all eleven were together they set off to the southeast, where they believed the Guardians were hiding out. 

After a week of finding no trace of the Guardians but dead people in little towns who were mysteriously killed. The wizards trekked wearily on through an open grassy field. Keira stayed in the back, listening for movement behind them. A group of oak trees were ahead of them, 

"Lets rest there for an hour, to get out of this heat." Said Jura, who was near the front of the group. Everyone agreed and they changed course towards the tree's. As they got closer a dozen wizards ambushed them. The wizard saints were instantly alert, eleven on twelve, pretty even but Keira knew instantly that these people were Guardians. 

"Be careful, they're trained to kill!" She called out, creating barriers in front of the group to protect them from attacks. A few attackers pulled out weapons and rushed Mokarov and Warrod. Keira rushed foreword and pulled out her sword, the clang of metal ringing in her ears. She fended of their attacks and got in a few blows to their bodies, sending them crashing into each other. Out of the corner of her eye a white light startled Keira, the beam was heading directly towards her head.
