-Flashback-
Dipper sighed, and turned around to see how Bill-proofing his mind was going. It isn't even at twenty-percent yet!
"Ugh, this is taking forever! How long have I been doing this for??" He sighed, and adjusted the heavy helmet on his head a little. He looked to see Great Uncle Ford, who was sleeping soundly.
Dipper squinted his eyes at his snoozing Gruncle. "Why does he have to be so mysterious about Bill..?" He wondered aloud. "I can handle the truth."
I wonder what Great Uncle Ford is thinking, His thoughts blabbed from behind him. Must be the machine projecting his thoughts. An idea sparked in the twelve-year-old's head. Use the machine, it'll show you his thoughts.
"I shouldn't..." Dipper fought himself aloud. Great Uncle Ford didn't stir.
His mind, on the other hand, had different plans. He won't know. He's going to tell you eventually. The more you know about Bill, the more you can help!
"Man, I am really good at rationalizing!" Dipper complimented his thoughts.
Yes, you are! Yes, you are! Yes, you are!
Without hesitation, Dipper tiptoed over to Great Uncle Ford, and placed the helmet firmly on his head.
"Just a little peek. What are you hiding about Bill?" He whispered, and the screen flickered on behind him. He turned to watch.
Bill laughter filled the room at once, and the dream demon appeared on the screen. Images revealed Ford thrashing in his slumber.
Another image appeared on a smaller screen, which showed Fiddleford McGucket with his arms clamped on Stanford's shoulders. "Where are these ideas coming from? Who are you working with?"
Grunkle Stan's voice echoed through the screen from a small memory. "My brother is a dangerous know-it-all." It said.
"He would trick or possess anyone."
A frightened and horrified Dipper watched as an image of a younger Ford appeared on the screen, holding his hand out towards something.
"Then it's a deal. From now until the end of time."
"Just let me into your mind, Stanford!" Said Bill, who was also on the screen, extending his hand as well.
Dipper's eyes widened in fear. This can't be happening! He thought nervously. If Great Uncle Ford was going to protect him, then why...
His thoughts were cut off when younger Ford piped up. "Please, call me a friend."
Then the screen flickered to another image of young Stanford, laughing like some sort of crazy madman. His pupils were yellow slits.
"Ford and Bill?" Dipper gasped, and he shuddered in fear. He caught some movement out of the corner of his eyes, and he whirled around to see Great Uncle Ford getting up from his seat. He couldn't see his eyes very clearly from the glare on his glasses.
"You shouldn't have done that..." Ford muttered, and thrusted the helmet of his head. It catapulted through the air and knocked down a few stacks of papers, and the sheets that seemed to be protecting something fell off with a swish of movement.
Dipper couldn't believe his eyes. He stared directly at tapestries on the walls, which all showcased an image of Bill on each and every one. He also saw several objects that resembled the evil dream demon in their own special way.
"Wh-Why were you shaking hands with Bill?? You said Bill could possess anyone so he could get this!" Dipper nabbed the rift from the table, his hands shaking as he tucked it under his arm.
"Careful!" Ford exclaimed. "Hand me the rift! Now, boy!"
Dipper took a step back. "Why were you really scanning my thoughts??" He argued with his approaching Gruncle. He swiftly grabbed the memory-erasing -machine, tightening his grip on it as he aimed it at Ford. "Are you Bill right now?!"
"Now just, just calm down p-"
"Pine Tree?!?! Is that what you were going to call me??" Dipper cried, and took a few paces backward once again.
"I WAS GOING TO SAY PLEASE, KID!" Great Uncle Ford yelled.
Dipper didn't listen to his Great Uncle's plea. "Great Uncle Ford told me to protect the rift!" He exclaimed. "Get one step closer and I'll shoot! I'll erase you right out of Ford's head!" He aimed the machine toward's Ford's head, and put his finger on the trigger to shoot.
"It's me, Dipper! It's your Uncle!" Ford attempted to explain.
"Trust no one, trust no one, trust..." Dipper told himself, and the light of the memory-erasing charging up lit up his face.
"HAND IT TO ME!!!!"
Dipper released the trigger and fired a small beam of light, and it bounced off Ford's glasses. Just as he and Ford ducked to dodge the memory-wiping ray, the glare lessened in Ford's glasses.
He's normal! Dipper's thoughts cried as he saw that his Uncle's eyes weren't yellow pupils. All this time he was normal, and I threatened to erase his mind! Good thing he has that metal plate in his head to protect hi-
Dipper felt a sharp pain in the back of his head suddenly, and his mouth released an ear-splitting screech.
His began to fade, and the world around him vanished into darkness.
