Chapter 11

"& WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, BITCH?" Jim yells at the top of his lungs. He was so drunk.. He couldn't hold himself up. He was leaning on the begining of the stairway for support. I looked behind him.. My mom was knocked unconscious on the floor. I saw her face, bruises & blood all over her. "ARE YOU GOING TOO ANSWER ME OR JUST STAND THERE LIKE THE FUCKING IDIOT YOU ARE?" He continued too yell.

"I- I'm sorry Jim. I didn't mean too be soo late! I went too school today, & saw an old friend-" I started too explain.

"FRIEND..? YOU DON'T HAVE ANY FRIENDS, YOU GODDAMN LOSER. YOU'RE JUST LIKE YOUR MOTHER! A WHORE! SHE HAD TOO FUCK PEOPLE TOO MAKE THEM LIKE HER! & THAT'S EXACTLY HOW YOU ARE GONNA TURN OUT!" He yelled. Stepping closer & closer with every word, until finally, he was breathing his alchohlic breath in my face. I try too run, but he grabs my arm before I can make it too the stairs. He throws me against the wall, & I hit my head.. Hard. Everything suddenly gets blury, & then I see nothing but black..

*Next day*

I wake up, the sun shining in my face. My head pounding. I look too my side, too see my mom still on the kitchen floor. I try my best too get up & run too her, but all I can do is crawl. I go over too her, check her pulse. She has one, but it's slower than it should be.

"Mom! Mom, please wake up!" I scream. I can't lose her too. I pull out my phone & dial 911.

"Hello. 911, what's your emergency?" I hear the operator say on the other side of the call.

"Please send an ambulance." That is all I remember saying.. I remember the paramedics filling the house. I remember seeing my mom get carried out.. The bright lights of the hospital when the pushed me through the halls too my room. & Then.. nothing.

"She'll be up soon. Don't worry, everything will be okay." I heard someone say. I try & open my eyes, but they're too heavy for me too lift.

"Do you have any idea what happened?" I heard another voice say. I knew this voice.. It was Vic's.

"No. When her or her mother wake up, some police are going too question them, but for now, all we know is that, they're not in good condition.."

*Vic's P.O.V*

She looked so broken.. Like someone took all the life she had left in her, out. She was still so beautiful.. I know I've only known her for a little time.. But I remember her from last year. She was soo quiet. I always wanted too talk with her, but I never could. I was hurting too much after what happened with Sam. I couldn't talk too anyone. But now.. I feel like I could tell her anything, & she'll understand. She needs too know, I love her.

"Kat.. Please, wake up. I need you to. I still have soo much too tell you. & We still have soo much to do. You promised me a chance Kat.. You promised." I said, tears falling down my cheeks.

"Vic..?" I open my eyes too see her beautiful face smiling.

*Kat's P.O.V*

"Kat! I was soo scared that I lost you.. Do you want me too get a nurse?" He said, followed by a sigh of relief.

"Where's my mom?"

"She's in the room over, she's still sleeping. I'll go get a nurse." He said leaving the room, before I could protest. As the nurse walked in, she had the biggest smile on her face. She looked soo familiar..

"So.. Back again?" She said with a little chuckle.

"Huh?" I stutter.

"You were here, just yesturday.. For a concusion. & Now you're back, for another head injury." She said with a concerned face. "Is there something you want too tell me?"

"Um.. no m'am. I'm just a clutz." I say with a fake smile.

"Is that young boy, your boyfriend?" She said with another huge smile.

"No.." I say slowly.

"Oh, well he must care for you a lot. He was in here just an hour after you were brought in. He waited out in the waiting room for 5 hours, while you were in sugery. & When they brought you in here, he's been sitting in the chair by your bed ever since. I haven't seen him fall asleep once.." She said as she tapped my shoulder & walked out. I knew she thought I was crazy. Not only was I just in here, but I had the perfect guy that I could easily make mine.. But I'm still running, scared. I'll never be able too have a normal relationship.. Not after what happened with Devin.
