The Mall

The next morning I'm not disappointed that I don't have any text messages from Trevor, he did mention that he was spending the day with his family. That is the whole reason his mother planned a trip down to Riverside.
Since I don't want to spend the day alone I call up Melanie.
She picks up after three rings.
"Hello?" Her voice echoes through the phone.
"Hey Mel it's Raelynn!"
Hey Rae, what's up?"
Nothing really, just wanted to know if you we're busy today."
"Nope,"
"Want to go to the mall?"
"Sure, I can be ready in an hour!"
"Sounds good" I say.
"Bye"
She hangs up.
I get out of bed and head to the bathroom. I undress myself and hop into the shower. I do the usual girly things, shampoo, condition, shave, etc.
After I'm all clean, I step our of the shower to dry off. Wrapping a towel around my self, I cross the hallway to my bedroom.
I grab some pastel blue shorts and pair it with a flowy white tank top. After I've changed I head down stairs for breakfast.
While my bread is toasting I pore myself a cup of coffee.
It's 11:30, so I still have half an hour before I have to meet Melanie.
My toast pops and I dress it with peanut butter. I head to the dining room where I see my mother.
"You look nice" she states looking up from the newspaper she has. "Seeing someone special?"
She's trying make hints about Trevor, her motherly intuition thinks I like him. Which is true, but I never thought I made it that obvious.
"I'm meeting Melanie at the mall!" I completely avoid the topic of Trevor.
"Do you need a ride?" I nod between bites.
"Yes please. I'll be ready in 15 minutes." I say once I've swallowed.
While running upstairs I go over what I need to bring -money, purse, shoes, phone- and search my room for those items.
After I have everything I meet my mom at the front door.
"Ready?" She asks, shaking the keys in her hand, I nod.
The car ride consists of old music and small talk. Which I'm thankful for. I usually don't keep things from my mom but I don't know I'd this thing with Trevor is going anywhere, so I better keep it to myself.
"We're here!" My mother pulls up to the entrance of the mall. "When do you want to hey picked up?"
"I don't know yet." I shrug "I'll call you later!"
My mother nods as she pulls away.
Suddenly two arms wrap around my waist and a familiar giggle rings in my ear.
"Hey Melanie!" I smile cheerfully she releases me and we have a real hug.
Together we walk into the mall and she tells me about her life. Apparently she was sick in bed last week.
"What about you?" She questions. "Don't even try to leave anything about Trevor Moran coming to visit you."
I blush, she knows Trevor and I have been talking lately, and of course I told her that he was coming.
"He didn't come to visit me, he came for family." I say as a matter of factly. "But we have hung out!"
A smile crosses Melanie's face. She believes in fair tales and think Trevor and I are going to live happily ever after.
"Ah!" She screams in my ear, begging for all the details. I tell her everything, including the kiss.
We enter a store and begin to look around. Melanie hands me a very revealing shirt and a pair of booty shorts that would show off half my butt.
"Trevor would be all over you, I'd you wore this." She gives me a me nixing look as she hands me the outfit.
"I should go try this on!" I boast in my girliest voice.
We both laugh. Getting a few strange looks but we don't care.
For the rest of our mall trip, Melanie tries to get me into overly revealing clothes, that I reject every time.
By the end of the day I have a new pair of cowgirl boots, a flannel, a maxi skirt and a shirt to match.
"When Trevor finally asks you in a date you have to wear that skirt!"
"Fine" I say a little too harshly. "Buy only if you promise to wear that blue dress on your first date with Grayson!"
"Fine" we shake hands "because I know that's never going to happen."
I role my eyes.
