Chapter Two

Family Game Night:

Later that evening my phone lights up with the name:
Melanie 😊
She and my other best friend Grayson are the only people besides my immediate family that know about my YouTube channel.

Melanie😊: Hey, great video today! :) are you busy tomorrow?

Me: No! Why? What's up?

Melanie😊: My mom has a business trip in Anaheim! She said she would drop us off at Long beach! We wouldn't get back until late, but I thought it'd be fun!"

Ah the beach my parents better let me go, even if it is an hour away!

Me: My parents should be alright with it one second!

Typing as I nearly trip down the stairs.
My parents are more then happy to send me off to do something besides lay in bed all day!

Me: Yeah I can go! :) Is Grayson coming?

Melanie😊: Yes I invited him! If that's alright?"

Melanie is so polite and is such a grammar nerd but I love her!

Me: Oh course it's alright you guys are my best friends! ;)"

Melanie 😊: Good! :) We will pick you up at 8:00am sorry it has to be so early

Me: No its alright I totally understand! See you at 8 ;)"

Melanie😊: Bye

I put down my phone and change out of my clothes into something comfier -a baggy shirt and sweatpants- then have a nap.

Later, I role over and look at the clock on my bed side table, it reads:

5:30pm

I should probably head downstairs for dinner.
As I walk down the stairs I can smell the sweet aroma of beef and salsa and everything else involved in my favourite meal!
The kitchen is scattered with everything needed for the ultimate taco night, I smile to myself!
"Hey look who it is?" My mother smile at me "Super star extraordinaire!"
I blush.
"Ready for tacos?" She winks!
"Oh course I'm ready for tacos... I'M ALWAYS READY FOR TACOS!"
"Call your dad and brother for dinner!"
I run as fast as I can and collect them both! We all load up our plates and sit together as a family telling all the new stories we've accumulated over the past week!
We have a taco night every week because my entire family loves them -who doesn't- and then we talk about our week! It's tradition!
After tacos my mother and I serve ice cream letting everyone choose their own toppings! I always choose chocolate chips and caramel sauce! :)
We usually play cards or some other game, today it's Balderdash and of course my dad always wins!
We play a few rounds before I realize it's getting late and remind my parents that I have an early morning tomorrow. I am excused!
"Good night" They all say as I walk up the stairs! And tuck myself into bed.
