The Date
"Does this look okay?" I stand in front of my mother, desperate for advice.
"Aw! Honey you look beautiful!" She smiles. "And Trevor will think so too!"
"Thanks!" I blush, a little doubt in my tone.
I went with Melanie's advice and wore the maxi skirt with a frilly white top. I also added more makeup and curled my hair. After the video was posted Twitter was blowing up. #Trevlynn was trending big time, it was nice to know I was shipped with someone. Especially someone I felt strongly about.
I check my phone. It's 4:00pm, leaving me with half an hour before my date with Trevor. So basically half an hour of hell.
I'm completely ready and have nothing to do but worry. And I do.
'What do I do?'
'What do I say?'
'How do I act?'When the doorbell finally rings I take a deep breath and walk to the door. My shaky hand grasps the doorknob and slowly turns it.
A young man stands in front of me. He wears dress pants and a collared shirt. He looks so handsome, I can't explain it. His piercing blue eyes are wide with nerves, which I find quite cute. For a moment the boy just stares back at me, no words ex ape his mouth for a brief period if time.
"Wow...You look beautiful!" Is all he manages to say.
"Thanks" I blush.
"Here!" Trevor hands me a single rose. It's gorgeous. The small gesture makes me feel special.
"It's beautiful" I take the delicate flower from him. "Thank you!"
I go on my toes and give him a peck on the cheek.
"Are you ready to go?" He says a little flustered.
"Yeah!" Trevor grabs my hand and interlocks my fingers with his. He guides me away from the house and down the streets.
We walk hand in hand. Trevor guides me down different roads, and I still have no idea where we are going. His hands begin to get sweaty and it's comforting to know I'm not the only one who is nervous. Just when I think he's gotten us lost we come across a park. The park we went to the day we first met. He leads me down a path where I find a small picnic laid out, but no one there.
"He we are." I slowly wrap my hands around Trevor's waist and hug him, no words escape my mouth as I have none. The small sentimental gesture is a perfect date and way to show me he cares. "I thought you'd like it!"
We sit down and Trevor pulls a few items out of the basket. I later notice that they are chicken wraps and caramel frappecinos.
The memories continue to jumble in my head, as I slow a small giggle to escape my lips.
"What?" Trevor sounds so confused, and a little defensive.
"This is what we had the day we met!" Trevor smiles, as if that was the plan all along.Eventually, we finish our meal, but we continue to talk. It's so strange how we always manage to find something to talk about, but we do.
A lull in the conversation causes Trevor to stand. As he does so he escorts me up up too. Trevor pulls me away from the blanket and on to a small patch of grass.
"May I have this dance!" He hands me a head phone, and puts the other in his own ear.
I never realized how small I really was until his arms wrapped around my waist. I didn't have to look up to know he was at least four inches taller. I laid my head on his chest and breathed in his sweet aroma.
This small act of kindness made me feel so special. As we sway back and forth I finally realize how lucky I am. I have never been in a committed relationship, I never thought I was ready. And the fact that I never found someone who I really felt myself around. That is until now!
The silence continues. I never want it to end. The soft music. The beautiful sunset. It all seems so enchanting.
Finally Trevor lifts my head from his chest and I get lost in his eyes. The beautiful blue hypnotizes me.
It's not until our lips meet that I realize he was leaning in, but I don't reject it.
Sparks fly. Our lips slowly moving in sync. My hands messing up his once nice hair, his placed firmly on my hips. The lips against mine begin to curl as Trevor smiles into the kiss. I have never felt this strongly about someone and when we finally break I'm hungry for more.
I look up and see two eyes staring back at me. Wild with excitement. We stand still, looking at him I take in every detail as he does the same.
"I know this is crazy..." Trevor starts, clearly really nervous. "But... I really like you. And I have ever since we started talking."
This comment confuses me. I knew we were friends but never even imagined anything more, for the sake of my feelings. Besides this is "The Trevor Moran" he could have any girl he wanted, why me? We used to text and Skype and call all the time, but the whole time, I never knew.
"I didn't want to rush into things because you could've been totally different in person." Trevor takes a deep breath, trying to muster the words. "But when I finally met you I soon realized you weren't..."
The words flow through the air between us. Nervous as ever he tries his best to come clean. How he really feels, and the thoughts make me want to cry. Buy don't worry they're tears of joy.
"Okay what I'm trying to get at is I really like you! You make me smile. Laugh. I can never be mad you. Your beautiful. Inside and out. Just talking to you can brighten up my day!" I feel like a dam broke in his head, as if he's been holding this in for a long time. "I know we've only been on one date but... everything I saw is true. So... W-will you be my girlfriend?"
Tears start to form in my eyes. I'm so flustered. That is not at all what I was expecting. I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him into a hug.
"Yes!" I whisper into his ear. "Of course."
