"This year's 'The Glass LEAF award' goes to Ms. Serena Krishnan. Please give a big round of applause" announced the girl in black with a wide smile on her face.

The crowd cheered and was awaiting for the person who won the award. I was one among the crowd, feeling tensed. Hands Shivering. Palms sweating. I looked at the anticipating faces of the people curiously staring the stage for the person to enter and take the award.

I looked at the person sitting beside me, Shruthi. She was staring at me with a blank look on her face, eyes wide open. "what should i do now. I am getting scared." I revealed my inner turmoil.

She pushed me.

"C'mon go. Take your award for your hard work", Said my assistant and my best friend, Shruthi Gopal. She nudged my hand to stand from my seat.

I hesitatingly rose up on my feet and proceeded towards the stage with nervousness conquering my whole body making it impossible to take quite a proper path.

I walked through the crowd, reaching the upstage i advanced towards the only person whom i always feel inspired with.

He is my inspirer and a guru with whom i was dreading to work from a very long time. I was so happy that my legs were tuning into jelly.

With a wide smile on my face i took the award from him and turned to the mike to say a few words which i have been preparing since i made a goal to win this award. Finally this is my day.

I couldn't get words out of my mouth. My tongue felt so dry that it parched up. I dreaded for this day and here i am with an empty expression on my face.

"Thank you very much for this award. I am so glad that i could make up to this stage. I thank my friends and beloved ones for the encouragement they have provided me with. Thank you." I said but not the speech which i have prepared from long time. I have gone blank people staring at me. i rushed towards my seat and took a long breath.

Everyone started to congratulate me. i was so happy with this moment. My breath calmed when i am back in my place. After that everything was blur and unknown.

Soon the event ended and i retired to home. After so many days, i had a smile on my face while sleeping.

Back at the office:

"Ms. Serena Krishnan, the winner of The Glass LEAF award. Congratulations." Everyone shouted, the moment i entered the office. Everyone started greeting me for my achievement. "boss is calling you." Shruthi said while eying me towards the boss's office. "may be for congratulating you on your success." She added passing by me.

I gave a small smile to her and started walking towards the boss's office.

"may i come in sir?" i asked by tapping on the glass door.

"ohh yes, you can." He said while lifting his head from the set of papers in front of him.

"Congratulations Serena. I'm glad that finally you have won for your hard work." He said while gesturing to take a seat.

I nodded and took a seat in front of him. "so there are two reasons that i called you. One is to congratulate you and the second is to say great news that you were waiting for many days."He said while looking at me with a cheerful face.

"what is the great news sir?" i asked him in a monotone. "c'mon Serena cheer up at least now. I haven't seen you smile at any one or have a prolonged conversation with your team or friends any time form the moment you joined this company direct college. What you have achieved is so great." He said with concern filled in his voice.
