"In five, girls" the stage manager said. I bit my lip nervously, I looked over to Elle to see her doing the same thing. She saw me and we both laughed at how oddly similar we were.
"Go on now !!" The stage man said. We nodded and started to ascend the steps toward the stage. As we looked at the crowd I said loudly into the microphone
"Who came here to have fun !?!" Everybody in the audience cheered and screamed, like in my dreams.
"Now, my name is Elle and over here is my friend jay !!" Elle said almost screaming. I laughed and put my arm around her
"since we didn't come here to talk, and neither did you, we're going to start out with our first song. It's called shadows !!!" I said. They all cheered as I got ready with my guitar.
"Oooo in the shadows, was where I was stuck in misery!." I sang
"And then you came, it was insane, how you took the shadows a way! " Elle continued .
"Oh ! Oh! Oh ! You took the shadows awayyyyy"
"Oh ! Oh! Oh ! You took the shadows awayyyyy"
"And......then you left....... And I tried to stay out of the shadows. I see pictures of you before they came looking for your money"
"And I really can't hold onnnn. I see them, hear them, feel them......THE SHADOWS!"
"Oh! Oh! Oh! You took the shadows away"
"But now, now, now...... The shadows are here to stay" we finished in unison. As I looked up from my guitar to the people before us, I could feel tears in my eyes. This was my dream, and it came true.
