Chapter 5

When Callie woke up her left wrist was handcuff to the bed she was laying in. The room was dark, she could hear voices from somewhere in the building. They sounded like they were getting closer; she heard a key turn the knob she closed her eyes again to appear to be asleep.

“Tell the boss she is still asleep.” the man said.

Callie recognized the voice as that of the guard’s. The other one left but she knew that the guard stayed. She did not move and she kept her breathing steady so he would think she was a sleep. He was watching her she knew it; a few minutes later he left. She had bought herself some more time. She did not move for ten minutes just to make sure he was gone and not a trick.

Callie thought to herself.

“Whatever this thing is it is a lot bigger than she ever thought it could be.”

“What does it have to do with her?”

Callie wanted answers but did she really want to know them. She was terrified. An hour later the door opens again and this time someone comes over and wakes her up. She looked up and saw Marcus Lenora one of her father’s law partners. Callie looked at him with confusion in her eyes.

“Marcus what is going on here?” she asked.

“Shut up I am the one who will ask the questions.” “What was in the safety deposit box?” “I need whatever it is.” “You have no idea what the ramifications will be if it ends up in the wrong hands.”Marcus told her.

“How do I not know your hands are the right hands?” Callie asked.

“You don’t do you?” he said.

“I know now your hands are not the right ones.” “It is safe but you are not touching it.” “I do not understand what it means yet but I will find out.” Because it must have something to do with me” Callie told Marcus.

“Why would you say that?” he asked.

“Marcus I see it by the look in your eyes that you know what it is and what it means you just don’t want me to know.” stated Callie.

“I am done playing games little girl I want it and I want it now.” he demanded.

A man came in and whispered something into Marcus’s ear.

“So it is not at your place I should have guessed that.” “For the last time where is it?” he yelled.

“All you need to know it is safe.” she said.

“You are pushing me to the limit and I don’t like it.” Marcus said.

“Go to hell you are never going to find it.” Callie screamed.

Marcus left the room for a few minutes and came back with an injection filled of sodium pentothal.

“You will tell me now.” Marcus said as he injected Callie.

They waited while it took how of her.

“Where is it?” Marcus demanded.

Callie fought it she was strong she was not giving in to this. She could feel the battle rage inside she could not tell him where it was. She needed to find out more information about it.

“Tell me now!” Marcus shouted.

“It will be a cold day in hell before I tell you anything.” Callie screamed at him.

Marcus walked over to the bed and slapped her across the face. Blood ran out of her mouth. He slapped the other side of her face then but she would not talk.

“You have no idea what you have.” Marcus screamed.

“Why is it so important to you Marcus?” Callie asked.

“That is no of your business all you need to know is that I need them.” Marcus said.

“That is not going to happen.” Callie said.

“I know it was important to my parents that it be kept a secret until they were dead.” “That I did not know that I was adopted.” she told Marcus.

“So you know you are adopted how did you find that out?” he questioned.

“That does not concern you.” “Are you worried that I know?” Callie asked.

“Callie you were never to find out that you were adopted but you do now.” “Callie your birth tore a rip in time one that is coming to an end that is why it important that I see the letter and necklace.” “I swear this is not a trick or anything else that I promise you.” Marcus told her.

Marcus took the handcuffs off and gave her his cell phone so she could make the call. She did.

“You are free to go anywhere in the house.” Marcus told her.

Sam was there in about an hour with the letter and necklace.

“Callie are you ok?” Sam asked with concern.

“Yes I am fine.” she told her.

Sam walked over hugged her and gave her the things.

“Thank you for bringing these.” “I am going to be alright” Callie told her.

Callie walked Sam to the door, Sam gave her a look. Callie mouthed she was ok. Sam left.

Callie brought the letter and necklace to Marcus who took them and looked at them. Marcus gave a nod of his head Callie froze thinking they were going to put her back in the room. But the men left but not before they addressed her.

“Princess.” they said in unison as they bowed.

Callie looked at Marcus with confusion.

“It is a long story Princess come and sit down.” Marcus told her.
