Nick stood in front of his house with Alyssa and Dexter,chatting. It was Sunday morning and all the other neighbours were doing the same thing. It was a rule in the community that friends were not allowed to go into each other's houses. An airplane zoomed by,but this didn't seem to bother them, because airplanes often zoomed by the community.
However, gunshots were heard a few kilometres away. Sirens wailed around the community and the neighbours started running towards the safehouse. As Nick, Alyssa and Dexter started running, he heard someone call his name. He recognized the voice as his sister's voice, Teresa. Desperate to help, he ran towards the sound, with Alyssa and Dexter at his heels.
They heard the gunshots stop just a few seconds before they reached there. They hid behind a thick pillar and oeeked around the corner. The Elder's building, which stood magnificently, was now in ruins. Then they saw Nick's family and the council: bound up and gagged, and now some masked men were tying blindfolds across their eyes.
"Leave the sister here as a reminder," one of them said. The other men nodded and the airplane that zoomed across earlier landed on the grass and started hauling the prisoners in.
"Our job is done here," one of them said again. The men climbed onto the airplane and it zoomed off, leaving the three friends with their mouth agape. They rushed to Teresa, who was looking like she was going to faint.
"They're coming for you," she said and collapsed. She was carried back to the house and Nick gently placed her on her bed. He couldn't sleep that night. He kept wondering what will happen. As he peered out his window, he saw a note falling from the sky. He rushed outside to get the note. The note said 'Nick'. He opened it and gasped. It said,' We're coming'. He had to be prepared for anything that would happen. Anything.
