~Teresa's POV~
After we were locked in the 'bare cell', Nick and the others took a look around. I stood on a part of the wall when suddenly a beep sounded and a secret panel behind me opened. I took a step away and the others huddled around me. We saw a painting. (A/N: the painting is the pic on top.) I'm a curious person. I touched the painting with my thumb.
"Acess allowed." said a metallic voice. Another panel opened and down was a slide.
"Let me go first," I volunteered. The slide was shorter than I thought. There were bright lights, much brighter than the dim lamp in the cell. I shielded my eyes from them.
We were greeted by hushed murmurs. I adjusted to the brightness. My jaw dropped.
A group sitting in the corner of the massive hall was my friends. One of my best friends, Riley, spotted me. With a cry, we ran towards each other but bumped into a boy. I stumbled, but it was that moment when I felt a hand on my back. I turned around and looked at him. Oh.My.God. He was hot, with his black hair and a t-shirt and jeans.
"Hey, daydreamer." Riley's voice said. "I missed you."
"So..." I said. "This is where you've been?"
"Yeah," she sighed. "Our associates built this secret room. If you noticed," she said,gesturing around," those panels lead to the different cells we were locked in." I took a sharp breath. I was afraid that Asten would know. Remember? That villian who faked his death.
"Don't worry. Asten doesn't know." Riley suddenly told me, as if she read my thoughts. "There's enough supply of food and drinks, even though Asten's guards send food every day, along with essential items if you need them." A loud beep sounded, and Riley started to edge away.
"You'll need to go back. Asten's guards are on their way to checking on us. Go!" I stumbled back and shouted to my companions to go back the way we came. A ladder was placed and we made it back to our cell before Asten himself stepped in.
