They gave me fresh clothes and something to eat, which I found it as a surprise. The others came out from different doors in the "dining room" and we all sat down at the table, picking at out food.
"So."
"So we need to help a mental director get that antidote. From the lab. How on earth can we even do that?"
"Ok, Guys, guys!" Riley explained. We all turned to her. "This mission- I think we should do it."
"And why would we,"asked Dexter,"do a bloody thing for that foul? She treats us like dogs!"
"Well, I agree with Riley," Alyssa agreed," we need to get that...thing that she asked us to do. Think of it as you're doing it for your friend. Tes? Her life depends on us. We can't just let her down. We fail and she kills her. Slowly. You heard the lady. She does not joke around."
"Well, and what makes you think we can trust her?" Dexter asked. The room became silent, then Regina's voice spoke through the loudspeaker.
"Oh, shoot." I realized. She was listening to us the whole time we were talking. I don't really know that, but it seems that-yes. She was listening to us.
"Children. I believe you have known that I have given you a mission-to steal the antidote froma top secret lab. Our deal was to keep Teresa safe. If you fail, I will kill her. But now, I want you to hear her- watch her, actually suffer in pain so you all will be inspired. You all will do as I asked you. No excuses. Unless you want your sister to be dead."
Guards filed into the room and cuffed our hands behind our back and a soldier injected liquid into Dexter.
"So you will calm down," he said.
We were dragged from the room and into a huge one, then were forced to kneel down. A box was waiting for us. Director Regina stepped into the light, her heels making a clickety-tok sound.
"Thank you for gathering here with me today; I know you have gotten my message. Now, I called you here not just to see Teresa, but to brief you about the lab you are going to go."
She gestured to one of her men. The men she gestured to pulled down a projector screen and opened the laptop that was stored in the cupboard beside him.
"Please, pay attention. We don't want you guys doing the wrong thing in the lab when you get there. Oh, and I forgot. Do it whole heartedly, for Teresa;not for me.
