Masky held the white oak door open for Tisiphone. She promptly walked through the doorway and onto the grass floor. Her black and gold robe flaring in the suns light. Her smooth skin looked as pure as ever. Then Tisiphone stopped in her tracks and looked at the sunset on the west side of the horizon. Masky then shut the door behind him. Then pacing himself over to Tisiphone. Masky tapped her shoulder and gestured her to come sit down on a nearby bench. They made there way to it and sat alongside each other. Masky sat with his elbows resting on his knees. Tisiphone sat with her legs crossed and her hands on her lap.
"The sun... such beauty with such a simple hue. I've always heard stories from my sister's about the sun. I found it irksome at times but I realized there was a moral behind them." Tisiphone said.
"Oh yea, what were the morals?" Masky asked.
"It was a simple commandment that mortals use in this time as common sense so you say. Nothing more to it." Tisiphone replied.
"Hey Tisiphone?" Masky asked.
"Speak Masky." Tisiphone said.
"About what you said about being a fury and everything. Is that just a way of saying you have high standards? Don't get me wrong but I was just wondering." Masky said.
"Hmph... Masky the reason why I have stayed alone for so long is that I don't have time to focus on my lover. What I do... what I am told to do is serve those the consequences of those who committed slaughter. I am only one being and there is vast amounts of life on this world. It would be hopeless for me to find someone who actually loves me." Tisiphone said.
"What if the lover could come along with you?" Masky said.
"It would only slow me down. I am in no interest in being held back by person who lacks my abilities." Tisiphone said.
"Don't you ever get lonely?" Masky asked.
Tisiphone is silenced by the question. Masky knew what her answer was going to be. It was only a matter of time before she gave into it.
"Yes, Masky I have roamed for centuries on this land. Even when I'm surrounded by mere mortals I feel as if I'm all alone. No one to share with. No one to talk to. No one to comfort me." Tisiphone said.
As she finished she put her legs up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. Resting her chin on her knees. Masky looked at her and got closer to her. He then stretched his arm around her shoulders. Tisiphone looked over at Masky and smiled. She then rested her head on top of his shoulder. Silently looking at the sunset and then Masky broke the silence.
"You know what the sunset reminds me of Tisiphone?" Masky asked.
Tisiphone looked up at Masky and he looked back.
"What Masky?" Tisiphone said.
"Your eyes Tisiphone. Your beautiful, rapturous eyes." Masky said.
Tisiphone and Masky giggled at each other. Then they stared at each for a moment. Masky's face getting ever so close to Tisiphone's face. She had realized what was happening and was willing to accept. As they got closer their eyes closed and right then Jeff came bursting out the door to the backyard. Startling the both of them Tisiphone immediately backed away and sat down properly. Masky angered, stared at Jeff.
"Why hello their love birds! I was curious as to what you were doing out here. I hope I didn't interrupt anything important." Jeff hollered.
"Hello Jeff... yes we were kinda in the middle of something-"
"Actually I was just about to leave. Thank you Masky for your time." Tisiphone said.
Tisiphone got up and walked pass Jeff and into the mansion. Leaving the two alone.
"Jeff, like really come on. Why do always have to do this?" Masky asked.
"I have no idea what you're talking about. I was being a good friend and checking up on ya. Is that not being a good friend? Jeff asked.
Masky cursed under his breathe. Then he stood up and walked pass Jeff. As Masky walked by Jeff had a wicked smile on his face. But a lot bigger than usual. Something was wrong. Masky could feel it.
