Dusk

Trouble..... in the form of Diego Michaelson

We have been at our new high school for a mount now and I'm just starting to get settled in. Hayley on the other hand settled in weeks ago. I can't for the life me understand how. Suppose it was down to Ashley, making a friend before going to high school helped her. I on the other hand dint make on till just a few weeks ago. Connor who is very much like me a bit of a loner that sort of person. The pack hasn't herd anything from the vampires since we moved here.

I heard Hayley call from down stairs. "Hurry up we will be late!"

"Coming". I rushed down the stairs, bag on back shoes in hand. I slipped them on as we ran through the door and walked down the drive way. Gia had somehow acquired a licence so she drove us to school every morning in her new Jeep. We drove down the road and turned into the school parking lot. Ashley and Connor where waiting by the fence. Everyone hoped out of the car and went there separate ways.  Me and Hayley climbed the steps with Connor and Ashley.  We split as we reached the lockers. Me and Connor walked through first lesson it just happened to be with Diego.

We walked through the door and all Diego's friends grind and looked at us. Himself included. Connor used to be friends with them but Diego pushed him away when Connor started going out with his ex Lauren whom he still goes out with now. I try to ignore them as I take a seat next to Lauren who is my lab partner.She looks up and smiles at me. Connor walked past and kisses her gently on the head before taking a seat at his desk. This causes Diego to quickly turn to the front as he clearly new his cheeks where red with jealousy and anger. Lauren smirks and I try to hold in a laugh but to no avail. Diego turns and stands up, he raises on of his hands in a threatening way. I sand and manage to grab hold of his fist before he has chance to make contact with my face. I stamp forward causing a pice of a rumpled up paper I have in my pocket to fall on the floor. I try to grab it before he dose but I was to late. I let got of his arm and he un folds the paper. I already know what it is, an old photo of me and Hayley that I doodled on whit harts and loads of cringeworthy stuff. He doesn't say anything but he smirks and hands me back the pice of paper. Grate now he knows I like Hayley as more than a friend. I sit down while imaging all the things he is going to do.

Me and Connor where standing by the lockers at break watching Hayley and Ashley from a distance. They are fiddling around with pictures in there locker. Girls always decorate the inside of their lockers. They are talking about boys that they think a hot and when Diego's name is mentioned I growl in frustration. Then I see him looking this way he winks at me and walks backwards, pretending he isn't watching where he is going. He purposely bumps into the back of Hayley and she drops the pile of book she holds onto the floor. He smiles before turning round to face her. "Oh my god I'm so sorry that's my fault I wasn't watching where I was going are you okay? Here let me help you". He blends down and helps her pick up her books. "Thanks". She says not really looking up to see who it is. I notice that he's looking at Hayley's test paper from maths it has a red letter D marked in the corner. "Hey I'm sorry for prying but I could tutor you if you would like?" They both stand at the same time. It's when he passes her the books with the paper on top dose she notice who it is. She stares at him for a while. "Erm I... Sure if you don't mind?" Grate I think to my self. "I don't mind I like to think helping damsels in distress is my specialty". She smiles at him. "Not that I always help damsels in distress". This time she laughs. "Met me tonight after school". She nods and the bell rings signalling the end of break. I turn to see that Connor has already gone so I march to class in my very annoyed I won't move out of the way for anyone walk. Thank god that arse hole isn't in my next class.

Its last lesson and I'm in PE with Hayley. Where jogging round the track again and we are at the front of the class like normal. "Hey tell my mother I am staying back with a tutor for my math cos if I don't I will fail".

"No you tell her." I said bluntly as I was still a little pissed off. "What's gotten into you?" I thought for a while about wether I should tell her or not finally I decide against it. "I'm sorry I got into another argument with some lad, sure I will tell her".

"Thanks your the best guy friend a girl could wish for". I smiled but inside my heart had just been crush, she just had to point out that she only thought of us as friends. "Is it a good idea staying back with Diego?"

"It will be fine and anyway if he dose anything I'm sure I can take him me being a werewolf and all". I rolled my eyes and she carries on ahead.

I told Davina to tell her mother that Hayley was staying back whit her new maths tutor. Though I purposely left out that her tutor was Diego. I was so annoyed not only had he purposely walked into Hayley but he was just using her to get me. I never left the school. I stood in the class room next door to the library and listened through the wall. At first they where talking about maths and he actually seemed to be helping her but then the subject change. "So Hayley you have a pretty big family where did you all move from?"

"Alaska and yes my family's is pretty big and you have only met half of them ".

"There's more of you?"

"Yes there's me and my five brothers and sisters, our older brothers and sisters, my mother and farther, his brother and her sister and our ten cousins".

"So what about Dimitri's is he your brother to?"

"Haha no he's just a friend my family's looking after him while his are on holiday".

"Why didn't he just go with them?"

"Well it's more like a business trip so he prefers to come with us".

"Right I see so how long have you know him?"

"Since we where five". I could here a sort of irritation in her voice. "Can we please do some more maths now?"

"Sure". I stepped forward to listen more closely but for the next hour all they talked about was maths. When Hayley finally stood up to leave I heard Diego grab her hand. "Your not going to twist my arm this time are you our kick my arse or anything like that?"

"Well it depends on what you just grabbed my had for". I listened to him pull her in close to him. She shyly looked away but he moved her hair out of her face. And then they kissed. It felt as if hot acid had risen inside me and had bubbled up to my face. My cheeks where red and my hands where sweaty. I fell to the floor and transformed. I heard them, I had frightened them. I ran down the hall's and I jumped through the glass of the back door shattering it and I ran of into the night towards the mountains. I could turn at will. This was another secret I hadn't told Hayley. Another thing she didn't know about me. Even if it was a full moon.
