Dusk

Bitten

Last night...

The young wolf had accidentally bitten Diego during her transformation. Hayley rushed over to Diego while I rushed over to the young wolf. I calmed her down telling her it would be okay and that I would help her. Suddenly a bigger wolf was beside her. "Maggie it's okay your going to be okay. I'm her brother what happened?"

"She turned and well".  I moved out the way so he could see what had happened. He gasped. "Look we will take care of him just get her out of here". I ordered. Surprisingly he listened and urged her to run. Once they where gone I turned to Hayley. Diego was backing away from her. He was on the floor and crawling backwards. "Hey it's okay calm down I'm not going to hurt you I promise". He looked shocked and scared. He wasn't listening to her he couldn't understand her yet. When a wolf is in wolf form only another wolf can understand them unless your a vampire or a mermaid they can also understand us. No he was backed up against a tree. Slowly she laid down like a dog and slowly she crawled up to him. She cried in a nice way, as trying to show him she wasn't going to hurt him. She placed her head gently on his leg. Very, very slowly he reached out his hand and gently placed it on her head. He stroked her like a dog. I growled at him and he pulled away. Though she was instantly up in her feet and growling back at me. "What are you protecting him for?!" I shouted. "He's my boyfriend and I love him". Och that hurt. "Well your stupid then aren't you because he certainly doesn't love you".

"Yea and how do you know that?"

"Because the only reason he showed any interest in you was because he hates me and he found out that I liked you so he wanted to annoy me". She was silent for a minute. "I don't believe you".

"Fine don't but you can even ask Ashley, that's why we have been acting so weird around you, but fine if you don't believe me". Our attention was diverted back to Diego as he was now screaming out in pain. She shook her head. "Hey Diego can you understand me, your going to be okay I promise, hey can you understand me?" I watched as his spine started to snap and all his bones began to brake. He was screaming out in pain. "Hey do you understand me?" He looked at her, shocked. He nodded slowly. "What's happening to me? Who are you? What are you".

"Your in transition".

"Transition to what?" He said between clenched teeth. "A werewolf your turing into a werewolf". I laughed and her head snapped back to me. "Well it was a bit of a stupid question wasn't it, he can clear see what we are".

"Who are you?" He asked again. "Diego it's me its Hayley". He gasped and his head snapped towards me. "Dimitri". He growled. Now he was a wolf, his fur was pure white and his eyes where gold and he was up on his feet and ready to pounce. He sprung towards me pushing off with his back legs. Hayley was soon between us. "Move!" Diego growled at her. "No not until you tell me the truth, where you only going out with me to piss off Dimitri?"

"No I love you". He said. She pinned him against the tree, she was stood on only her back legs. "Tell me the truth!". She growled in his face. "Yes, yes". The strength seemed to drain out of her and she was back on all fours. I pounced on him before he'd had the chance. Davina must have heard all the commotion because in seconds she had pulled us apart. "Stop!" She yelled. "What's going on here?" The whole pack was now surrounding us. "It's Diego he was bitten". Hayley said. "So why are they fighting". There was a long silence. "Well!" Her dads voice boomed. "Their fighting over me!" She shouted. "Davina move!" Her dad ordered. "What dad no you can't, that's not how things..."

"Be quite Hayley!" Now fight!" This was my chance to prove to the pack that I was worthy of joining them, I wasn't fighting over Hayley I would respect her decision whatever it was but I was going to fight. I growled challenging him. I knew he wouldn't be able to back down. He lunched at me but I was to quick and I instantly took him down. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Hayley leave...
