Chapter 15

(Danny's POV)
The rest of the day was a pretty regular day. Yet I had a tugging feeling in my gut that will not leave. As Sam and I headed to her place, we were suddenly stopped by Tucker's mom.

"Danny! Sam! Have you seen Tucker?" She asks frantically.

"No ma'am. He wasn't at school today." Replied Sam politely. This worries Mrs. Foley even more.

"Thank you for telling me." She says and walks away. I turn to Sam.

"No wonder I've been having this dreaded feeling in my gut all day." I tell her.

"Lets go to your place instead and tell Vlad." She says and we run to my house.

"Vlad?!" I call as Sam and I enter the house. He appears in the doorway of one of the many hallways.

"What's wrong?" He questions from the look on our faces.

"We think Tucker is missing. He wasn't at school today and his mom was looking for him on our way here." Something flashed across his face. He's hiding something. "What?"

"This was on the front door this morning." He hands me a slip of paper.

"If you want to see your friend again, meet in the lab at Fenton Works by midnight tonight." I read aloud. Sam gasps. "I have to go."

"No!" Vlad and Sam say at the same time.

"Do you not remember what happened last time you were at Fenton Works?!" Sam said, her voi e rising.

"This is for Tucker's life. His life is worth living, not mine. I would gladly risk mine for someone who had a life worth living!" My voice rises as well.

"Don't you dare say you have nothing to live for. You have Sam and you have me! Your sister wouldn't want this!" Vlad shouts with tears in his eyes.

"It doesn't matter! My life was over the moment I was turned I to what I am today. I hate my life and I HATE BEING THIS GHOST FREAK!!" I cry as I finally say what I've been wishing for from the moment I told my parents the truth.

"You're not a freak Danny! We love you so much. Human and ghost! I love you for you! I wouldn't want anyone else!" Sam shouts with tears falling from her eyes as well.

"This is why I do what I do." I say quietly. "Being a hero. I made a promise to myself that I will risk my life to save an innocent. If I don't fulfill that promise every time I try to save someone, it will haunt me for eternity. I can't live with that. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I let someone die to protect myself." I dry my face and turn and leave those left who love me to save my best friend.

When I was a couple blocks from Fenton Works, I change into Phantom, finding that my suit was fixed with no hint of damage. I then turn invisable and fly down to the Fenton's lab. First thing I see is Tucker in the corner of the room restrained to a chair and Maddie and Jack sitting in chairs intron of Tucker, clearly waiting for me.

"A few more hours to live Tucker. Then it's bye-bye to your life." Maddie says.

"You guys are sick and twisted. No wonder Danny and Jazz left y'all for Vlad." Tucker says and I smile.

"Shut up!" Jack demands. I fly down to behind Tucker and start untying his hands.

"Don't worry, it me, Danny. Pretend your still binded by your hands and when you see me cover my ears, cover yours." I whisper to Tucker and he gives me a thumbs up, signalling that he understood. I then walked behing my ex-parents and made myself visable. I caught Tucker's attention and gave him the signal. As soon as he did, I let out my ghostly wail as strong as I could, knocking Maddie and Jack unconscious. I finish off the wail and then walk back over no my friend to help untie his feet from the chair legs.

"Danny! Behind you!" Tuck screams and I look behind me and find someone I never thought I'd see.

"Please forgive me." Pleaded Vlad as he shoots me in the head with an ectogun.

Sorry for the wait, I had a little case of writers block along with school and tennis games/practices. Hope you enjoyed the sudden twist in the story.
Just for a heads up, I'm planning on ending this story in the next few chapters. But don't worry, there will be a sequal to this story. The title will be Forever Free.
