Chapter 4: The Tune of Beginnings

*KATIE*

"So... I got the popcorn and a KitKat for you. Uhh, let's head inside now shall we?"

The girl nods with excitement. They both pick up the goods from the bench behind Jungkook and head to the door with the movie that they were going to watch. On the way there, Katie decides to ask questions to get to know him better, but to mainly interrupt the awkward silence between them.

"So how long have you known Merci?"

The boy looks over to her with a small smile.

"Uh, I've known her since...." he quiets down as he tries to think. "Since junior high I think...?"

Jungkook laughs lightly at the memories, while Katie blushes slightly when she hears such an adorable sound coming from the boy.

"Yeah. We were crazy back then, you know, for middle schoolers. How about you?"

Katie seems to shake herself awake from her hypnotism of the boy as the tables turn over to her.

"Uhh, I've known her since the first year of high school. Although, we didn't really become BEST FRIENDS until almost half the year was over."

Jungkook nods in understanding as the two stop in front of the "Titanic" theatre door.

"Ladies first," Jungkook says as he motions for her to enter. He follows suite after. The two find their seats and continue to talk about their elbow joint friend Merci and other topics all throughout the previews until the lights dim and the music begins to become louder.

Jungkook holds the popcorn in between them with the armrest up. Both reach for popcorn and their hands touch subtly. They abruptly look at each other, both blushing, but it was too dark to see the flustered faces of the other.

Katie squeezed her eyes shut as she couldn't help but think that this is something that only happens in movies.

'So goddamn cheesy...' she thinks shaking her head. Jungkook glances at the girl, but couldn't see her expression. Upon realizing their hands were still touching, he quickly moves away as embarrassment fills him up.

Both now flustered, they continued to watch the movie.

The two laughed and smiled at Rose and Jack's adorable antics, trying not to catch glimpses of each other smiling and laughing. They even covered each other's eyes playfully when it came to the "Draw Me-Like-One-of-Your-French-Girls" part. They laughed together which even caused other movie goers to look at them, annoyed but the two young ones didn't care. They just kept doing what they did without a care in the world.

"I'll never let go Jack."

Katie is in tears, wiping her eyes with her sweater sleeves until she feels a nudge from Jungkook. He's holding a pocket pack of tissues, while silent tears rolled down his cheeks. Katie takes a tissue and quietly thanks Jungkook, while giggling quietly despite of herself because of their emotions from the movie. They both direct their attention to the movie once more, missing the part where Rose lets go of Jack, then disappears into the frosty ocean of the Atlantic.

When the movie ends, the lights brighten up once again, revealing everyone else crying from the tearful moment as they all get up to skip the credits and go home. Katie and Jungkook are still sitting in their seats, trying to recollect themselves from their red puffy eyes and tears that seemed to reach their necks.

"Great movie huh?" Jungkook asks as he wipes his eyes.

"Oh yeah. It's not like I've seen this movie a billion times."
