Suspect Turned in by Friend
By Geraldine Sparks
Two weeks ago a young woman was found severely injured after a hit and run. Finally some justice has arrived in the hands of the suspect's friend. The suspect, an 18 year old boy, had been driving home with his friend when they had an argument which caused him to run a red light. Afraid of the consequences, both boys kept quiet until the boy's friend turned him in after being racked with guilt. Both the suspect and the friend's name are currently being withheld until court next Thursday.
The young woman, who was recently identified to be Elaine Williams from Scarborough, is still in a coma despite all her surgeries being successful. Her family is set to attend the court session in hopes of seeing some sort of punishment for their daughter's state. Doctors are unsure if she will ever wake up or if she will be paralysed after having suffered from severe head trauma, but are hopeful she will recover.
