"Of course, it's you." The Scotsman laughed.
"Sarah, meet The Rani." The Doctor mockingly gestured his hand in a welcoming wave towards the woman. The brunette instantly hissed back.
"I see that your maturity still lacks." The Doctor raised a solitary eyebrow and readjusted his posture. He passed one of his arms in front of his torso then the other across it, grabbing his wrist as he did so. The Doctor elevated his head and cracked his neck, whilst he continued to fine-tune himself. One foot after the other, he began to prowl the console room. His aged, yet attentive, eyes scoured the mainframe of the machine, as though he was looking for something beneath the panels. A hasty cough from the corner of the room immediately diverted The Doctor's attention.
"Oh yes, YOU, what are you doing here then? Mr 'Black Guardian' aka 'Guardian of Darkness and Chaos.' You're meant to be the most powerful time guardian, what are you doing aside a Timelord? You don't need help; you're supposed to be a lone warrior." The shadowing mass of darkness snarled, as the Scotsman mocked him.
"Who else could master such a difficult operation, Doctor?" I needed him to get your whole and undivided attention. If completed, I obliged to restore his ability to change his appearance at will." The Rani strutted past The Doctor. A rectangular shaped panel, adjacent to the AV scanner, met with her fingers. With care, the crimson red queen detached the centre piece and deposited it onto the console floor. A burnt sienna coloured cardboard box took pride in the centre of the compartment. The Rani outstretched her arms to welcome the package into her fingertips. As she retrieved the box, all eyes focused upon the mystery within the bundle.
"Hold." She demanded. The Doctor instantly obeyed. Sarah-Jane edged closer to The Doctor, her face painted a canvas of emotions. The Rani peeled back layers of the opening of the box. Blackness escaped into the surroundings, as beams of light invaded the clearance directly from the central ceiling light. What looked like a snow globe reflected a minor glow onto their faces. The Rani retrieved the globe-like object and held it central to her chest. What looked like capsules of memories circulated the space within the globe.
"Isn't it fascinating? So many powers and possessions concealed and concentrated into a prison sphere." The Rani chuckled with awe, staying directly in eye contact with the globe. The Doctor tossed the box to the size and continued to transfix on the sphere. The Rani waltzed over to the Guardian.
"Are you ready?" She asked. A solitary motion of his head sealed his approval. The Rani clutched onto the top of the globe with the palm of her hand. The contents of the globe violently swirled and swooshed. She released her grip. For a brief moment, The Doctor, Sarah-Jane and The Black Guardian were spellbound by the plummeting ball of energy. As the globe impacted against the ground, a clink echoed round the console room. A gel-like substance sprayed across The Rani's heels and spattered up the side of the console. The capsules that once took pride in the sphere were now compiled in a heap on the console floor. Leaving no time for the echoing of the glass to stop, The Rani raised her right leg and plunged her foot into the capsules. Splinters of glass shot up into the air followed by a distinct, thick smoke. The fumes rose and collided into one cloud. With what seemed like preparation, the Black Guardian raised his head and embraced his fate. The mass of fumes formed a shape, similar to a snake, and slithered with grace over to the chaos creator; each segment funnelled itself directly up the Guardian's nose. The Doctor stood in confusion yet awe at the current unfolding events. The Black Guardian's neck jolted back, as the final instalment of smoke entered his body. His head began to vagariously shake. Hundreds of faces projected themselves one by one onto the Guardian, all within a brief moment. Random slurs of speech escaped.
"Kindness... No reward... Never interrupt... Enemy... Do, or do not... Fear not for I am with you..." The Black Guardian continued with his unsystematic utterances. A fiery red headed woman took one of the presences and spoke.
"Raggedy man." The shuffling continued for some time, before seeming to come to a standstill. A brunette beauty took shape. Her hair fell to her shoulders, but no further. The woman's clothing was simplistically stylish and flattered her figure well. She spoke.
"I despise you, Doctor, you ruined my life." The Doctor was aghast. Sarah-Jane confusingly looked at The Scotsman and waited for him to articulate himself.
"Clara... I" Before he had time to continue, a violent thrust of the Black Guardian's body caused him to transform once more back to himself.
"Well, wasn't that fun." The Guardian smirked, as he intertwined his hands.
