Another Love

Peter and Carla walked carelessly down Coronation Street and towards no. 1 to drop Simon off at Ken's. As Leanne and Nick exited the Rovers after seeing Stella, Simon ran towards Leanne and gave her a hug. Carla looked to the floor, and then up again, to find Nick staring and smiling at her. She couldn't help but smile back.
"Alright Leanne." Carla asked, sarcastically. Peter and Leanne were not getting along as they were fighting for custody over Simon. Of course, Nick and Carla had to hide the fact that they were friends, as neither Leanne nor Peter would be pleased. They had to keep quiet. They just couldn't really hate each other. They did before, but now they just can't find it in their hearts to hate one another. The two just can't and they don't even know why...

"You palming him off at Ken's are you? I thought you'd be spending as much time with him as possible now that you won't get custody of him." Leanne said spitefully.
"Oh shut it Leanne. You will not win. I'm his biological father. Me! I'm his flesh and blood, not you!" Peter shouted and caught the street's attention.
"Peter calm down." Carla said quietly but firmly.
"Calm down? Don't you tell me to calm down." Peter said angrily. Carla immediately shut her mouth. She didn't want to get embarrassed in the street.
"Oi, she's trying to help, and she's right. Calm down mate." Nick couldn't help but defend Carla. Although this caught Leanne's attention, she didn't say anything about it.
"Oh yeah? What are you going to do about it mate?!" Peter shouted as he walked towards Nick and poked his chest.
"Stop fighting!" Simon ordered as he pushed between them both.
"Sorry pal." Peter said and looked at Nick with an aggressive look.
"Yeah sorry, Si." Nick said looking back at Peter.
Both Carla and Leanne looked back and fourth at them both with a worried look.
"Come on let's just go inside, Si." Peter said, not taking his eyes off Nick. Carla watched Peter and Simon walk in the front door of number one. She stood outside for a second longer and stared at Nick, he stared back. Leanne watched her, although,  she didn't suspected anything. Luckily...
