Chapter 1 First day

*Aprils pov*
"Well it's my first day at Mercy West." I said as I was making coffee. "I can't believe that I will be a surgical intern today." I said with excitement. Is I was eating breakfast I realized that it was 7:45 and I had work at 8. "Oh shoot I better get going if I don't want to be late." I grabbed my keys and my purse and bolted out the door. As I was driving to the hospital my favorite song came on. I started singing it will joy. I finally arrived at the hospital 10 minutes later. I walked in and as soon as I walked in I saw my fellow interns. They all looked happy but not as happy as me surgery was what I lived for. As I was getting into my scrubs this hottie walked in with these big beautiful green eyes and I froze for a minute. "Great in this girl from a farm and there is boys and girls here that look like celebrities" I thought to myself. I kept to myself but the cute guy with the green eyes walked up to me and opened the locker next to mine. He asked "how are you, what resident are you assigned to." I quickly replied, " I'm good and I got dr. Baker" as I stared into my locker with my scared face. He smiled and said "me too." I thought to myself," great now I won't be focused." I shut my locker and I slowly walked out with the other interns in my group. We all walked up to dr. Baker and he said, " here's your pagers. If you get pages you answer at a run. Don't bother me unless your patient is dying and the patient better not be dead when I get there. Sleep in in call rooms when you can because attednings hog them. okay my interns let's go meet out first patient and his pager went off." We all ran to the helecopter landing as the flight attendent said, " we've got a 21 year old girl with abnormal seizing activities." We rushed her inside and got her seizures to stop. I was incharge of watching her but so was green eyes. Great! I thought. She started seizing again but I froze on the spot. Green eyes luckly got her back and I got yelled at by dr. Baker for not being prepared. Great, now my resident hates me. I walked to the lunch room. It was time for lunch we all sat at one table togther. I was the first to sit down and lucky me green eyes sat by me I thought to myself," quit being such a chicken and talk to him." But I just couldn't there was no way a hot and perfect guy like him would ever like me, and quite and shy farm girl from a small town. I got up and went to the hall way to eat. I sat down in a gurney in a back hallway and started reading my book. But 5 minutes after I sat down green eyes showed up. I looked up and there he was.I looked down nervously and pretended to read my book but I was really freaking out. He came and sat by me and said," your avoiding me,why?" I replied with," I'm not avoiding you." Even though I was, I thought to myself. He replied with," yes you are I know you are I'm like that I can tell things about people." I said," I'm not but I have to go I have to check on a patient." I got up and walked away and my face had a sigh of relief. I went and sat by an unconcious patient in the icu for the rest of the day. It was finally time to go home. I got dressed grabbed my keys and left. I walked into my house and sat on the couch and thought to myself, " that wasn't so bad." And fell asleep
