My life flipped (Book 1)

Saved by my crush

The next day i woke up a little earlier then I would have liked, but I stayed awake neither less. I walked around my room, still excited that I got Olivia Knight as my partner! I mean it would have been cool to have gotten Chase, but still. I flipped on my computer, checking my e-mails. One was from my mom and it said:

Dear Kat,

What is it like up there in Washington? Are you losing your tan? Have you made any new friends or are you an outcast? E-mail me!!! I need to hear from you!! Unless you don't love me? You do, don't you?? I am frantic, reply.

Momma

     I shook my head as I finished reading the e-mail and then decided to reply to her:

Dear Momma,

Washington is great, really great. The weather may be rainy, but I still have my tan...for now. I am NOT an outcast thank you very much! And I hate you that is why I am replying to this e-mail. Or I am a secret agent that has hacked your daughters e-mail account. Hehehe.

     I laughed at my own e-mail and sent it. After that I shut off my laptop and got dress. I crept downstairs to brush out my hair and then headed back upstairs to play with Ashlee. I took one of the cat toys and threw it. I watched as she chased it around the room. I heard clattering from downstairs and went down to find Megan, pulling out a couple pans. "Megan, I think cereal for me would do just fine," I said, walking over to her. "No, only the best for my niece," she replied. I shook my head and grabbed a bowl from one of the cabinets.

     I also found a box of Frosted Flakes in another one. I poured the Frosted Flakes in a bowl and then ate them without milk or a spoon. Megan was giving me a mean look, but instead of saying anything she just plopped a couple pieces of toast in the toaster and sat down. "So," she said. "I hear that you guys picked seventh grade projuct buddies. Who did you get?" I laughed, I thought I had told her, but I guess I didn't. "I got Olivia Knight. Also, I am going over to her house on Saturday, to start working," I answered.

     "Oh the Knight family. Great people, their dad is the local dentist and their mom runs a local bookstore. Olivia is twins with Chase Knight I am pretty sure. Then Anthony Knight is their brother. EJ and Kristy are brother and sister, but aren't actually related to Olivia, Chase, and Anthony," said Megan. I tilted my head to the side and said, "So Mrs. Knight married Mr. Knight and she already had two kids and he three." She nodded.

     After breakfast, I brushed my teeth and backed up my backpack. I headed downstairs so that I could get to school.

     "Have a good day," called my aunt as I got out of the car, to join Elena, Alicia, and Grace in front of the classroom. "Hey Katerina," they all three said, smiling. "Not late today I see," said Grace. I laughed and nodded. "I forgot to ask, who did you get as your partner, yesterday?" Elena asked. I smiled and said, "I recieved Olivia Knight as my partner yesterday." All three of their eyes got wide, as Alicia said, "You better be careful, Jen will get on your case." I rolled my eyes and said, "Jen has her own problems. I am working with EJ's sister, wow!"

      Before they could reply the bell rang and we were being pushed inside the door. Then class began.

     Once it was recess, I was cornered by Jen, Amanda, and Christen. I let out an annoyed breath and said, "What do you guys want?" Jen gave out a huff of a laugh and replied, "I know you got Olivia Knight as your partner. I know you have a crush on EJ and I also know that EJ is going to be working at his house as you are going there to work with Olivia. If you try anything stupid there, I will know Katerina Tyler, I have my ways."

     Then they started pushing me around, while forming a barrier around me. "Stop it," I said, trying to push them out of my way. I almost had gotten out of their group when I head a low, melodic voice from behind me, "Leave Katerina alone, Jen. She did nothing, now did she?" I flipped around instantly and who I saw was EJ. In my head, I did a little happy dance, but on the outside my face was expressionless. "Fi...Fi...Fine," said Jen, shakily, letting me out of their circle. After they left, EJ was still standing there, staring down at me with his green eyes. "Than...Thank you," I said to him, my voice studdering. He gave a slight smile and replied, "No problem." I watched him walk away.

     I knew from then on, that EJ felt something for me.

     At lunch, I told Elena and Grace, since Alicia had an appointment to go to, about my encounter with EJ. They all gasped. "EJ barley talks, unless he has to. How romantic that he saved you from Jen and her minions," said Elena, smiling. I nodded.

      I was saved by my crush and now I knew tomorrow I could corner him at his home and straight out confront him.
