It was silent before one of the twins spoke. Everyone was in shock even Maaliyah and I.

"Mom stop playing." Tahnil said laughing nervously hoping it wasn't true.

"Mom? Tell me you lying to us." Khalil said as a tear escaped his eye.

His mother stayed silent. The smile on Tahnil's face slowly turned into a frown.

"Mama I'm sorry. You got me I won't prank you no more! Just tell me that you playing! *voice cracks* I swear on my life ma Ian gone mess with you no more ma."

MAMA T- I'm sorry twins. I didn- GCO

Tahnil- What stage?

Mama T- What? Baby that's not impor-GCO

Tahnil- MAMA!... WHAT stage?!

Mama T- Stage 4. Baby my cancer is secondary. It's spreading.

Tahnil- How long you got?

Mama T- 7 months at the least. 2 years at the most.

Khalil- Mama Damn! Did you not at least once think about our feelings about you waiting to tell us this?! Mom we wanna spend every free second we got with you but you ruined it ma. Had you told us months ago, we would've spent as much time with you as possible but you waited until the day that we leave for college to tell us this ?! What the hell is that?! Maaliyah and I walked over to a fuming Mama T. "Mama T, I assure you they just need to calm down. I'll have Tahnil call you." I said.

"Yes, and I'll make sure Khalil calls as well. Take care of yourself and if you don't feel comfortable calling the boys... Call us... For anything Mama T! We know now, let us help you." Maaliyah said. I love how my friend always had a way to calm people

"I'll keep that in mind chile'. Thanks so much and make sure my hot headed ass boys stay in line. I know it's hard to process but I won't be here to much longer." Said Mama T.

I dropped my head trying not to release a tear. I knew she added some time onto her life for the sake of her boys feelings. "I don't plan on it but just in case I die before time, tell my babies that I love them and to check the green box. They'll know what I'm talking bout'.
