BUT THANK YOU SO MUCH, ESPECIALLY TO fabulouswan, oncerin_storybrooke and Kiteeel, they have helped me reach the end after all this time. THANK YOU SO MUCH :')
I WILL DO A SEQUEL WHICH I ALREADY HAVE THE FIRST 4 CHAPTERS ALREADY WRITTEN. COMMENT IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO DO A SEQUEL TO THIS STORY. IT WOULD BE CALLED Once Upon a Dream.
Recently in Ghosts of the Past, Hook, Regina and Emma as well as Neal are on a deserted island and Hook sacrificed himself for Emma even though he might still be alive. Will Killian remember everything once he wakes up?
One week ago
"Hook!" Something holds on to me like a spider's thread dangling in front of me, showing me an escape, a loophole. A soft, distant voice calls me, shaking me but I can't seem to open my eyes. All I can see is white light fading into my blue irises. "Don't you dare leave me, Killian." She doesn't shout this time I feel something hot landing on my cheeks. Tears. The person is crying, she knows me. I hear another voice, and the other person is pulling the crying girl away from me. I want to scream to them, I want to say not to leave me here like this but my voice fails me. I try and reach for the spider's thread dangling in front of my very eyes but it's going higher and higher until I can't reach.
Then it fades into the bright sky, leaving no trace, no memory behind.
"Someone please!" I hear the girl's voice again, she shakes me desperately as if I was her lifeline, as if she depended on me. Something clicks in my mind, a young woman, blonde hair as bright as the sun, beautiful bright eyes, soft fair skin, a smile that you can never forget. A teasing laugh full of happiness. A voice that can't be erased no matter how much magic someone uses. I know instantly as the image goes in my mind. Swan.
I don't know how much time passes, I can barely register that I'm being carried away, I barely register the screams, I barely register that someone is holding my hand as I get taken on some sort of transport. I do register that as long as this Swan is there, I feel safer than I ever have before but before I can control it, all I see is darkness and then nothing more.
Present
Machines beep around me, my eyes hold no emotion, I stand there lazily as they put injections on my arm. The doctor whispers something to the nurses who leave the room, coming back with more medicine. I feel alone, I feel like I fell down my own rabbit hole into my own Wonderland of nightmares, confusion and loss.
I miss Emma. The only person who can make sense of what's happening right now, the one who made me feel safe, the one who I watched Pirates of the Caribbean with. The one who changed my life and made it complete, the one who made me laugh, the one whose kisses reminded me of what hope felt like. I need to see her. I need Emma, not Milah. Milah was like someone far away, someone who the man I used to be understood, but I had changed. I wasn't that person anymore. Milah wasn't the one who I was in love with. I was in love with Emma.
Yes, parts are coming back to me now but I need proof that I'm right. Only Emma can explain if what I can remember is indeed correct. And as if she heard the prayers in my head, the door burst open, revealing a young woman with blonde hair reaching her shoulders and shone like the sun, beautiful bright eyes and a smile you can't forget. She runs to me and wraps her warm arms around my cold body and it's all I need.
"Emma..I think I remember." I tell her, and I feel my heart drumming in my chest. Yes, this is right. Yes, this is all the proof I need. Milah comes through the door too followed by Neal.
"You're supposed to be with me, darling." Her smile looks forced and I can't see what I fell in love with all those years ago. "No...you're not here. You can't be. Milah, let go. You died long ago. Raven tested us to see how strong our bond was. She'll be ready for her revenge." I tell her and watch as disbelief washes over her features. She shakes her head. "No...i can't be. This wasn't the way my life was supposed to be..." She trails off and watches as her body fades away.
Because I don't believe her. She was never here, only a figment of our imagination. I don't believe she's here and my belief was the only thing keeping her here. She fades away completely and Neal does so as well, fighting it but failing because they were ghosts. Ghosts of the past, people who we outgrew and left long ago.
But as Emma's arms tighten against me and she places a chaste kiss to my lips, I knew.
She was all I needed.
"You found me, you found yourself again." She murmurs and I nod, a small smile on my face. "I will always find you." We both laugh, realizing the line I had just used. Yes, this was our happy ending, how it was supposed to be from the beginning and this,
This is the way it will be.
