Raven POV
My heart hammered in my chest. What was he doing in the same room as my sister? I almost screamed before I breathed in and walked into the room. "What are you doing here?" I snapped at him. He gave me a cryptic smile that sent chills. "Just giving my old friend a visit...and giving you a warning. Give up your revenge and don't even think of going near Belle or telling her. If you do, prepare to lose Evangeline. Again. After all, you're pretty good at that."
He walked away, the sound of the cane hitting the floor as he walked and I winced, walking towards my sister. "Evangeline...how long have you been here? We have so much to catch up on...Please, wake up soon, dear sister. I miss you, truly. " I whispered to her, tears welling up in my eyes, I brushed away some of her dark curls from her face.
"Raven? Why are mother and father fighting?" I turned to my sister who looked at me with wide silver eyes. I sighed. "Sometimes parents have to solve their differences. Father made a deal that now he can't pay back, I whisper, we might lose something important to us, Evangeline." She sighed. "We have to get gold, to help pay the debt. How much do they need?" She asks. "Ten gold pieces." She shifts awkwardly. "I have two gold pieces, you have three. We need five more. Where are we going to get them? We don't have enough time, do we?" She asks and I nod, looking down for a second.
"We'll have to steal them. The rich have much more anyway. What would five pieces change for them?" I tell her and she grins, extending her hand. "Deal. I'm with you, Raven. Till the very end!" I smiled. "You're the best sister I could ask for. We go at night." She nods. "My magic, I tell her, I don't have it under control just yet but it will protect us."
Henry came in the room, "Raven! I found her story in the book!" My eyes widened. "Come on, we should go to the library, it's quiet, calm, peaceful and great for research." He says and I nod. "I'll get some food. I'll meet you there in five minutes, it's right around the corner." I nod and go out the room quickly, not turning back.
"Are you sure you want to do this with me?" I ask her. She nods. "You're my sister, of course I'm with you. I'll have your back no matter what." I smiled and we walked towards the richer houses. I let out a shaky breath and clicked my fingers, the door moved an inch and we crept in. "Don't split up. We can't risk getting caught." I whispered to her. She nodded.
"Look." I pointed to a small box hidden in the corner of the room, it shone as if something bright was inside. I moved quick and opened the box, it wasn't easy, it was hard to open but I managed to. The box was filled to the top with gold. We gasped. "This is more gold that we'll ever see in our lives." While I wished to laugh and celebrate, I knew we had to leave quick. "Lets go!" I told her, taking ten gold pieces.
"I thought we only needed five?" She asked as we left. "These business people always change their mind, we should have some with us just in case. You never know when we might need it." I whisper, grabbing her arm. "Come, we should hurry home!"
