Last time in Ghosts of the Past: "We can find her story in this book and put a potion over an item of hers, that will lead us to her." "I'll find you, Evangeline, I promise."
It beeped faster, the same rhythm as my heart until it glowed so bright that it could blind and then it stopped. I looked up, we were at a hospital. I felt sick. What if she was ill? What if she was dead? What if...? Henry snapped me out of my thoughts. "Let's go. You have to believe she'll be okay. Maybe she's just a bit ill? Did she have any conditions?" He asks me. I nod. "She had asthma, a serious case of asthma when we were younger, yeah." He nods at me and we walk in to the desk, where he talks first. "Excuse me, do you have a patient by the name of Evangeline? We-" He carries on talking but I shut everything out.
"Hey Angel, come on!" I laugh as we both run in the garden, she giggles and runs behind me, always behind by a few steps. "I bet you can't catch me! Haha! Angel!" I turn around, instantly, shock and dread cross my features. "Angel!" She's fallen on the floor, coughing and gasping for air. I run to her, as quick as my legs can go. "Mother! Mother! Come quick!"#
~ "Well, Nurse? Will she be alright?" My mother asks Althea, the village healer and our aunt. Aunt Althea nods with a small smile but worried features as she places a damp cloth over her forehead. "Yes, she'll live. But she must be careful from now on, she is a delicate child. She must not overdo anything."
~
I soon learnt what being delicate and not overdoing meant. My sister had to stay inside more, she couldn't play our games as much, instead of running, she read, instead of playing pirates, she did embroidery. She had to sometimes stay in bed for days, she had coughing fits, she was not allowed outside for weeks if she got ill. She was a very delicate child, after all.
"Raven, come on. She's in Room 12." I nodded, once again snapping out of my thoughts and rushing past reception to the room. Henry stayed outside waiting in the common room while I went inside. I froze. There lay my younger sister, on a bed, surrounded by beeping machines that monitored her breathing and tubes that were connected to her arms and mouth. I felt sick. She was unconscious, in a coma and Rumplestilskin was right there, next to her.
