To my surprise, Vlukyn didn't drag me out of bed and throw me into the waves when I woke up. I awoke to the sounds of a furious battle taking place below my window instead. I got out of bed and walked over to look out my window. Vlukyn and Flame were fighting again although they seemed to be less serious than they had been last night. Fryn and Nifrael were cheering in the background. The background happened to be behind my bed.
"What is going on down there?" I wondered.
"Good morning, Lucina! It does me good to see your bright eyes on this fine day!" Nifrael said.
"What are you doing in my room?!" I cried indignantly.
"I don't want to get too close. Last time I nearly drowned," Nifrael said.
"What does that mean?" I muttered.
"Vlukyn goes all out against Flame because he can vaporize the water if she uses low level spells. If one ricochets, it hurts a lot," Nifrael replied cheerfully.
I heard someone crunch on something in the other room.
"Hehehe! Those two are really going at it," Kagutsuchi's voice said.
"Kagutsuchi? What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Hey, who's this guy?" Nifrael asked at the same time.
"That's one of my spirits," I told Nifrael.
"I didn't know spirits ate potato chips," Nifrael said watching Kagutsuchi chew on another potato chip.
"These aren't potato chips although they're very similar. They come from the celestial realm," Kagutsuchi said, "And if you're wondering what I'm doing here, it's because I want to get to know my new mistress more. It's only been a few days since you've been able to conjure me."
"I'm not your mistress. I'm your friend," I replied.
Kagutsuchi nearly choked on his potato chip.
"You're the first celestial mage that's ever told me that," he said, "You have my full respect for that alone."
He suddenly rushed to the window.
"Ahahaha! I want to fight the victor. I hope it's that chimney headed boy," he laughed.
"He's a lively fellow, isn't he?" Nifrael said.
"He's the demon slayer guy," Fryn said.
"I didn't realize that he liked fighting that much," I said.
Vlukyn jumped back and conjured a wall of water in front of her as we watched. Flame was using so much fire magic that the sand was starting to melt.
"You're pretty good at vaporizing everything I've thrown at you, Flame, but even you can't vaporize the whole ocean, which is right behind me available for my use," Vlukyn said, "You may as well give up now."
"Heh! You can't control all the water in the ocean, Vlukyn. Don't think that you can defeat me just because the ocean is nearby, and don't make the mistake of thinking that I will just give up," Flame snorted.
Vlukyn pointed at Flame, and a huge column of water rose from the ocean and shot at Flame forming into the shape of a sea serpent as it went. Flame punched it, but the heat of his flames was not enough to vaporize the column. More and more water surround Flame. He thrashed and twisted within the water column but was eventually slammed into the sand. He stopped twitching after awhile, so Vlukyn immediately sent the water flying back into the ocean. She walked up and stomped on Flame stomach. He spat out a huge gulp of water and started coughing.
