Rules are not in Place With No Answer

Chapter 5

It was the second day of school and Elena felt calm. Waking up she looked up at her ceiling. It was white with a popcorn texture. It was different from anything else in the house because it was the only room in her parents three bedroom home that had a ceiling like this. Maybe that was why I wanted this room in the first place, Elena thought to herself time and time again.Elena liked different and then thought about Damon. Damon Elliott.

Something about him intrigued her. Was it his looks? The way he spoke? These were all questions that she still did'nt have an answer too.

The morning was like any other. Elena got dressed and then went down for breakfeast. But instead of her dad being down there- because Elena's mother was 'working'- both of her parents were at the dinner table. Elena knew something was wrong.

"Oh hello mother. Are'nt you supposed to be working?", Elena said quitely. " Well hello sleepy head. And why the concern? Can't your mother sit at the breakfest table with you and my husband and enjoy some time with her favorite daughter?", mother said in a cheerful voice. This was quiet strange for mother to be acting this way. " Mother I am your only daughter.", said Elena. " And that is ---", mother was interupted by father who might I add was not wasting anytime. " Elena, listen. There are things you do not understand yet. Things beyond your control...", father said in a fast serious voice. " What is it father? What is beyond my control?" Elena asked curiously. "There is a young man that your mother and I were talking about the other day. His name is Damon Elliott.", father said ignoring her question. When father said Damon's name Elena's stomach dropped. How did father know about him? " We do not want you to be around him Elena. Do you understand?", mother said joining in. "What is wrong with---", but Elena got cutt off by the sound of a phone ringing.

Mother whispered into the phone, " Yes I am on my way."

And with that mother left leaving Elena and her father at the breakfest table.

After mother left all father did was clean things up. Like nothing had happened at all.

And with that Elena left for school. But there was still something on her mind and that was - there was not an answer to mother's question which ment Damon was not off limits.
