I sat on the chair that ended my life. Not literally, but where it all started. The dining table...

Not only was I alone, Niall and Zayn were invited to this dinner. My dad practically giving my best friend the death glare.

"Can I have more?" Niall swallowed the remaining food on his plate.

"There's some in the kitchen..." I muttered.

Dad shook his head at me and at his food. Niall quickly stood up and went to grab more food.

"So, Zayn." Mum stared at him. "Do you like the food?"

"Yes! Very delicious." He smiled at her. I rolled my eyes and stuffed the last piece of chicken that was on my plate and into my mouth.

This is so delicious.

"Nothing personal, but are you going to college?" She asked.

Are you serious?

Zayn eyed me, "Yeah. Nodre Dame?"

Mum hummed in satisfaction before taking a sip of her water. She always does this, tries to compare me with other people.

Sorry mummy but it doesn't work!

Niall came back with a mountain load of food on his plate. He ran to his seat before my dad could say anything.

"Niall? Are you going to college?" Mum as him now.

"What?" Niall looked up all shocked. Everyone turned to look at him, my dad once again glaring.

"Y-yeah, Just not here..." He took slow bites from his food.

"Have you've thought about it Millie?" Mum asked me.

"Yes."

No.

"Oh really? So are you taking the full scholarship?" Mum stared me down. She wanted me to say something smart to make her look good.

"I'm still thinking."

I wasn't in a mood to argue either, maybe I just needed to grow up. Yet I can't seem to, my nitch has not came to me.

Mum just wants me to make her look good.

I don't know about Dad though. He's probably proud that I came out like him.

Can't blame him on that one though, I love my personality.

Once dinner was over mum had offered Zayn that I would take him home.

So dad had packed out left overs to Zayn so that he could share with his family. Niall left as soon as the dinner was over.

"Thank you for coming." Mum gave him a small smile. I rolled my eyes and went outside, waiting for him.

Luckily he followed right after me.

"My mum should be on her way..." He muttered, closing the door behind him. "Well I wanted to ask you."

Zayn began to fiddle with the lid of the tupperware. To my surprise, he was nervous and I've never seen him nervous for anything even when I turned down his offers.
