Jason's pov
I wake up back in my bed. Was it a dream? No, it couldn't have been. I saw my girls. They're alive and well. I have to find them. Luke sits beside my bed. "Dude, they're alive. I've got to get them." "They are not. Stop it." "Yes they are! I saw them today!" "Jason, stop it! You're going to go crazy again!" I stand up. "Luke, if you were ever my friend, you'd help me." I beg him pleadingly. He looks reluctant but he gives in. "What's the plan?" I smile. "They aren't going to remember me after all this time but I think I can get them back with the power of music."
Miranda's pov
I'm coloring with Sierra when I hear music. I jump in my seat. Me and Sierra lock eyes. I recognize this music. It sounds so familiar. I get out of my seat. "Mom, I'm going out to play." "Ok." I open the door and the music gets louder. A tall guy with a boom box stands in the yard. "We should go back inside." Sierra says, tugging on my arm. The memories flash back to me instantly. Uncle Luke. "Mama says not to talk to strangers!" I turn back to her. "He's not a stranger. It's Uncle Luke!" I gasp.
Jason's pov
I'm so shocked. She remembers Luke! "Uncle Luke!" She cries, running to him and hugging him. "Hey sweet girl, I'm surprised you even remember me." She hugs him. I step out of my hiding place. I hope she remembers me too. She looks up. "D-Daddy?" She does! She does remember me! Luke sets her down. She stares at me. "I-Is it really y-you?" I smile and kneel down in front of her. "Yes baby girl, it's me." I pick her up and hug her. My little girl is back. But where's my other little girl? She's not in the doorway anymore!
Carol's pov
I rush out with Sierra holding tight to my hand. She said a guy showed up and has Miranda. It's the guy from the station. "Put her down!" He stares at me angrily. "No. She's my daughter! You tell them the truth! You aren't their mother!" "What's he talking about, mama?" Sierra whimpers, gripping my hand. I pick her up. He walks over. "Their mother died 3 years ago in the same wreck that made me lose my girls. I was unconscious for months. They are my daughters. I don't know how to prove it to you." He looks so desperate. I look down at Sierra who's head is buried in my shirt. Miranda holds tight to his neck. "Sierra, he is our daddy." She whimpers, clinging tighter. I stare at him. "Please I'm not making this up. All I want is my little girls back."
Jason's pov
Luke walks over. "He's right. They are his kids. He's been looking nonstop for years." My face gets red. "Ok, I'll give you a chance because she won't let go of you. Obviously she remembers you but mark my words, you turn out to be some freak psycho rapist or something I'll hunt you down and kill you myself!" I'm shocked. "I'm not." Luke busts out laughing. "Knock it off. That ain't funny!" "Sorry Jay! It's just-" "You're name is Jay?" "Well Jason. My friends call me Jay for some reason." "Well I'm Carol." We shake hands. "Thank you for taking care of them all these years." "It was great. I love them." She still holds Sierra who obviously doesn't remember me like Miranda did. "Sierra, it's really me. I'm your daddy." She just looks away. She was always a shy one. "Sierra come with us!" Miranda cries. "It's okay, sweetheart. I'm not gonna hurt you." Carol walks with me to my truck. "Thanks." "Yeah, I would do whatever it takes for my children too." "Your children? They're not-" "Jason stop while you're ahead." Luke hisses. He's right. If I make her mad, she might not let me keep them. She hugs them both goodbye. I feel her pain though. She's taken care of them like a mother for 3 years. I get in the driver's side with Luke in the passenger and the girls in the back. "I really am your daddy." "You said our mama died? What happened?" I bite my lip. The memory of that day haunts me. It was my fault. I should've been watching the road instead of looking back at them. "She passed away in the car wreck that made me lose you girls."
Sierra's pov
"I don't believe him." I whisper. "Stop it. I do." I glare at the two men in front of us. This is bull. "You're just so desperate to be daddy's girl, that you're believing this crap!" I snap, a little too loud. He looks at us in the rearview. I notice he has the same green eyes that I do. "I don't know how to prove it to you."
Jason's pov
"She's pretty intellectual for a six year old." I mumble. "You're pretty smart for a redneck." She says. I'm a little surprised. "How did you know-" "I've watched buck commander before. They call you that all the time." We get back to my house. They go to their rooms that have remained the same for 3 years.
Sierra's pov
I remember this room. I run to the bed. "I remember this." I whisper. "Yeah, you were smart even for a three year old. You spent most of your time writing. You loved to write." He says. "Write?" I whisper. That's it! I look under the bed, pulling out the book from my dreams. He smiles. "I knew you'd remember being back here." I look up at him. He really is my dad. Tears rain down my cheeks. "Daddy!" I whimper, dropping the book and running to him.
Jason's pov
She hugs my legs and I pick her up. Tears in my eyes as well as hers. "I missed you baby girl." "I missed you too daddy." I smile. My girls are back.
