Jason's pov
I watch Carol get the girls ready and it just makes me miss Brittany so much. Sierra was in a purple dress and Miranda was in a red dress. I smile. They're so beautiful. "You look amazing." I say hugging my daughters. We go to the dance.
*A few weeks later*
"Oh I ain't afraid of dyin' but what scares me to death.... Is meetin' Jesus..... With whiskey on.... My breath." I listen to the radio. For some reason, this song hits me hard. Even though I've never been an alcoholic. Sierra was asleep beside me on the couch. I heard Carol in the kitchen with Miranda. They were making cookies. It's almost Christmas. I turned the radio off and walked in. Carol had just taken them out of the oven. "Mmm smells great." I say. "Daddy!" Miranda cries, running over and hugging me. I hold her tight, not wanting to let go. I scoop her up in my arms and let her ride on my shoulders. "I love you dad." She whispers, wrapping her tiny arms around my neck. I fight back the tears of missing my wife and the guilt of what happened. "I love you too baby girl."
