Jason's pov

I woke up in the hospital waiting room, a blanket around my shoulders. Luke was asleep beside me. I groggily stood up confused and draped the blanket over my best friend. The hall was dark, silent, Cold. As any hospital would be late at night. But it still gave me the creeps. Is something wrong with one of the girls? Or Carol? I don't remember anything happening. I walk down the hall and stop when I see glass. I look over and my stomach drops. "Baby." The word barely passes my lips before it's screamed again and again. I pound on the glass. "Fix her God dammit!! Fix her!!" I fall to my knees. "Please. Give my wife back. Take me instead. It was my fault not hers!" "Wake up!"

*he wakes up*

I was frozen in shock. "C-Carol?" I choke out, my hands shaking and twisted around the sweat soaked blanket. "Hey you okay? That was.... Some.... Nightmare." I lay back down, my heart racing, my  head pounding. "Y-Yeah it.... D-Definitely was." I take a slow deep breath. "Thanks for waking me." "Any time." She heads back to bed and I lay my head in my hands. "I'm such a damn nuisance waking her up with my nightmares. Well at least I go on tour soon. I can't bother them there!" But.... I am so not looking forward to getting back on the music scene.

~flashback~

"Y'all light it up one time will ya!" I shout to the upbeat rockin' crowd. "Oh we let it rip! When we got the money let it roll! If we got the gas! It's buck wild! Yeah but that's the way we get down.... In a Hicktown!!" I see my blonde beauty cheer side stage. Her stomach large with the pregnancy of our twin girls. I wave her out and spin her around. "God I love you!" I whisper, kissing  her proudly.

~flashback over~

I break down in tears. "I wish I could keep on lovin' you, baby." "You can, Jason!" I tense up. "Baby look up." Her voice. Her beautiful soothing voice. I shakily look up, tears rolling down my cheeks, to see my angel of a wife, crouched on her knees. "I will always love you. Time or death doesn't change a person's feelings." She says, her wavy blonde hair floats effortlessly around her shoulders. She places her soft hands on my cheeks. She has on purple and gold nail polish. And her perfume smells like lavender. Her favorite. The one she was wearing when she died. "I... How do I do this without you. You are my one and only. I can't bear it alone!" "You're not alone. You'll never be alone, Jason." She kisses me. It's the most amazing feeling in the world. Suddenly I hear a loud bark that scares the shit outta me. Bentley. Her dog. Her favorite bulldog that she had since college. I never was much of a dog person til Britt came around. After she was gone, I couldn't abandon him. He'd slept with me ever since. "How's Mommy's little angel?" My Queen asks as the old bulldog heaves himself on the bed. I help him  up and pet his head as does my girl. "Now Jason, I thought you didn't sleep with dogs?" She asks as he curls up beside me. Tears threaten to break the dam once more. "I.... After.... I l-lost you, I g-guess.... We both got lonely. He would whimper at the door as I cried in here. So I let him come in." She smiles. "You're a good man." She kisses my cheek. "So good to my Benny boy." "I love you Brittany." "Forever and Always." She whispers, putting her hand over her heart. I lay back against the pillows comforted by the old dog, his head now against my stomach as the room darkens into sleep.
