JACOB

"JACOB!!!" She exclaims running into my arms, tears running down her face.

"ELIZABETH!!!" My arms wrap around her small frame.

"I-I love you." Her voice shaken.

"I love you too." I whisper into her hair.

We stand in silence, basking in each others warmth. The fact that she was dead tears me apart. I wouldn't believe this unless she was in my arms, safe with me. Then and only then would I agree that she was back.

"I'm sorry."

ELIZABETH

"I'm sorry."

"What do you mean?"

"Goodbye, Jacob."

"Baby, please, don't go."

"I'm sorry, Jacob."

"El, please."

"Goodbye love."

As much as I want to be with him. I can't, it's forbidden. So I visit him in his sleep, then I have to say goodbye. Ya know, the more you say it, the harder it gets. They say the more you say goodbye, the easier it gets. It would be nice to be with him. I miss being underneath his touch, the way he treated me like a porcelain doll, as if I could break if he made one wrong move. I miss the warmth of the touch.

"Elizabeth, we are willing to give you one last chance. When you die again, it will be permanent. Unless you unlock the immortality of the Fox."

"What's the price of living again?"

"It might be a while before you can go back to them."

"What do you mean?"

"You will have to stay with the shadows until we can help you."

"Then I can return to them?"

"After you do one last thing."

"Which is?"

The words that came from his mouth were incomprehensible.

"What!?! No!"

"Is it not worth being back with the wolf?"

"I can't just- I will not kill my brother!"

"Then you kill the she wolf, descended from the blood of the chief."

"Rachel's dead."

"Not any longer."

"Jacob won't allow it."

"He will. Imprinting is stronger than anything else."

"Stay to the shadows, and kill Rachel, then I can be with Jacob. What if I don't?"

"You die."

"If I'm immortal?"

"We kill everything that ever meant anything to you."

"What if I kill you first?"

"You cannot kill what is already killed."

"I'm afraid that I'm going to have to pass on your offer."

"You must not love him enough."

"If you love something. Let him go." I say before walking away.

"You will never see him again!"

"I know, and I'm willing to except that. We all want what we can't have. That's the point of love." I angrily march away leaving the man behind.
