The cold wind blows snow around. My boots cause the snow to crunch as I walk. Just because I can't get cold doesn't mean I have to dress warm. I simply wore a pair of jeggings, a black long sleeved shirt with a white lace sheer, and my knee high dark brown combat boots. My hair went back to dark brown so I let it hang over my shoulders. Every snowflake that hits me melts instantly. Jake said it sucks but I'd get used to it after a while. I used to love playing in the snow when I was younger, long before mom died. We used to throw snowballs at each other, even dad did. Gabe and I would tackle each other and rub snow in the other's face. Those were the good thing about my fucked up childhood. Other than that my childhood was basically hell.
A strong wind makes me turn to the direction it came from. My eyes change color and I chase after it. The closer I get, I realize what it is. I stop and send fire after it. It falls and I run to it. I pin it against a tree and make my eyes glare at it. A strong wind throws me off. I tumble through the snow and jump up. It can't move. My hand wraps around his throat and he sets fire. He burns faster than I thought and I run back to the house. I run inside and collapse. My chest heaving rapidly.
"El!?!" Jake runs to me and holds my head in his hand, the other at my stomach. "What happened?"
"Alec." I spit out, the air around me feeling thicker and thicker.
"It's okay, it's okay, you're okay. I'm gonna call Carlisle, it's okay, you're gonna be okay." I grab his shirt in my hand.
"Quit." I suck in a breath. "Freaking." Another. "Out."
"El, save you're energy."
My vision dots and I start wheezing. I sit straight up and choke on something in my throat. Jake holds me up and rubs my back soothingly. As if it was all fake, I start breathing perfectly fine. My vision stays dotted, but I collapse back down into his arms. Jake scoops me up and lays me on the couch. My vision clears.
"Jake."
"Shh, save your energy. Your body isn't healing normally."
"Jake." I rest my hand on his arm.
"Don't waste your strength."
"Jacob." A firm voice says. My eyes look over at what I can't believe.
"S-s-s-Sam?" I choke out.
"Save it. You need all your power to heal." He says.
My grip on Jake tightens and I shake my head. He walks over and stands by Jake who is crouched down beside me. My grip tightens even more.
"Sam, stop you're triggering something. Sam! Sam stop!" Jake yells.
My vision blurs and I feel a hand on my arm.
"SAM!"
"I'm sorry Jacob."
My arm snaps causing an ear rattling scream.
"WHAT THE FUCK!"
My vision dots back into focus. Jake pulls me to him and sits on the couch by me. He brings me up on his lap and strokes hair behind my ear.
"It was the only way to save her."
My head throbs, something slowly trickles from my nose. My hand flies up to touch it. It's sticky. I bring my shaking hand back to see blood. Jake hold something to my nose as my body heats up majorly.
"Why is this happening Sam?" Jake growls.
"Her body is healing."
"This isn't normal."
"Yes it is, it's how you healed after the newborn attached you."
My eyes flutter, the pain becoming too much. My hand wraps around Jake's arm and constricts around it.
